Thank you. My laywer has said the same. I'm praying for quick issued visa.

If approved, you should get your passport with the visa in it within 5 business day...  However I will book a flight that departs and arrive the US before the 22nd of February to avoid Trump standing at the airport himself and waiting for Nigerians.

Lol MAAAAN!!!! I PRAY NOT!!! Its going to be a close fit. We need a perfect interview with no delays or AP for this to work. But we believe in a powerful almighty God and we are standing firm in His word! No matter how we feel or how the situation looks. We are standing on Gods promises to take care of us and work it for His good. No matter what. He is our God

Paul & Mary, thanks. I didn't think anyone could reply me tonight. Its almost 4 a.m and I am unable to sleep.  This is the worst news and not what I anticipated at all. I hope my case is approved and my fiance can travel.

I am in the same boat with you. Please keep me posted. We are in this together

Hi, please a very quick question. I'm a Nigerian and my fiance is a USC. we are getting married in march and would be applying for a cr1 visa. Due to the current travel ban placed on my country Nigeria and some other countries, will the travel ban affect our via and application (Cr1) or not?

Go ahead with your plans. Mine ate not changing. As others have said, there is a big gap between today and tomorrow and a lot can change.

  • Ontarkie changed the title to Travel Ban Mega thread

You can file any petition you like, and be approved. You can even go through the NVC and whole process, but ultimately, the visa will likely be refused and will not be issued.

Things may change down the road,I-130 petitions take basically a year to finish, plus you can stall NVC for up to 1 year, and if you plan it you can even stall the immigrant process post interview with a 221(g) denial for another year.

You can slow the NVC stage down for more than a year .. but you must be in contact with the NVC at least every 12 months

File and go thru the process.  Once you interview, and if the ban is still in place, the CO can recommend a waiver or be put on administrative processing.

This is what my laywer was talking about. That it has to do with the issue date. Not the actual day he picks it up in his hand. So how do you know what your issue date is? Do they tell you at interview?

You will see it in CEAC. It will show ISSUED. The actual date will be on the visa.

There's no way for them to tell you at the interview as the visa won't be issued until the case completes checks and they decide to issue the visa.
