Juliusbliss there is nothing on your timeline so are you already in the US? When was your interview? How long until you got your interview appointment letter afyer NVC?

Nope not yet. Waiting for my visa to be stamped and issued. My passport is already with since 22nd of April.

My interview was 10th of February. I was requested to have a joint sponsor cos my income was below the poverty  guidelines so that delayed me a bit.

NVC appt letter was 8weeks.

I'll advice you go with the attestation and affidavit that carries the names in your passport

Do you get the affidavit the same place as the attestation?

Nope. First I went to a computer business centre to type out the declaration of age and then took it to court for notarization after that went to my local government area office along with the notarized affidavit for the attestation of birth certificate to be given. That was my process

I am a little confused so bare with me lol. So you used the affidavit in order to get the attestation? I thought the affidavit was a different document but is it just a statement that is notarized?

that's OK. Like I said my process might be different from yours. When I went to the NPC office the officer ask me for  my affidavit of support (declaration of age) before getting the attestation of birth certificate so that was when I knew that I'll have to go to court to do all that.

So you see I don't know which one might come first for you but know that both goes together with you during your interview since it's not the original certificate from birth.

That's my take. So you go ahead and inquire in your city so you'll know which come first and do it once and for all.

The people at NPC will use the notarized affidavit prepared by someone who should know about your birth, mom, dad, uncle, aunt etc and that will be used to prepare the attestation of birth and then returned to you. From my experience, the embassy will require just the attestation of birth from you.

So you are just waiting for the embassy to open? Did you go into administrative processing? We just finished with NVC and are waiting for an interview appointment letter. Hope that doesn't take more months.

I just want to share my blessing and thank everyone here that advised me on how to get my husband to America! I picked him up at the airport today and although we are semi social distancing, it was nice just sneaking in a hug! KLM in Lagos allowed him to purchase ticket on evacuation flight. Other than a tedious 10 hour layover in Amsterdam, he had no issues traveling with only a valid visa (that was set to expire July 29th). I pray others have success too!

🥳🥳🥳 Congratulations!! Glad he made it before his visa expired.

Yes I went to AP cos of the additional documents I was asked to bring after my interview. Yes I'm waiting for the embassy to open.

I pray it doesn't take months cos I believe while there was a lock down the NVC were still working just that they will have much backlog in their table right not since the embassies haven't resumed fully.

But I pray it doesn't take too long for u though

Congratulations! May more of such good news go around!

Have a question, for someone with a valid F3 visa, would KLM permit them to board for a US bound flight?

I am not certain plus I am not sure KLM has more flights. I knew Turkish, Ethiopian, KLM, and Air France had evacuation flights coming to Lagos so I sent him to airport to ask. He tried KLM first and they said he could fly. He paid NGN 564,267. Flight took him to Amsterdam and then to Atlanta (We bought separate ticket to Dallas).  Please try and I wish you the best!

After we thought we've completed the submission of all our doc at NVC since April, my wife just got an email from NVC customer service, asking her to submit her divorce doc to travel.state.gov/documents for quicker processing of our case.

The website she was asked to submit her divorce doc to isn't opening.

What do we?  Any info on how she can submit the doc?

Website is travel.state.gov/documents
