Hello everyone.  please a question to all Nigerians who's married to a USC and filling for CR1 Visa. I recently heard that I'll need my original birth certificate when my Visa gets to the NVC stage and also the interview stage. I lost my Original Birth Certificate 2 years ago and did the Attestation of birth here in Lagos from the NPC and was told that's the only one I can get and NOT Birth Certificate.  My question is will I still have a problem since I do not have the original birth Certificate but Only the Attestation of birth or is there a possible way I can get or retrieve birth certificate in lagos and not just attestation of birth Letter bcus a fried said when it got to her NVC stage, she was told to upload her Original birth Certificate and Not Attestation of birth. Can anybody please confirm this for me or advice. Thanks

Attestation of birth is what I used and was accepted at the NVC stage. During my interview I went with it too attach with the affidavit. When the CO requested for it I gave it to him he checked and gave me back. I was out of there within 5min

My birth Certificate carries just my first name and Surname. But my international passport carries my first name, middle name and surname. Do i need attestation from NPC and an affidavit for my interview?

Is your birth certificate from NPC? If not then you need to get the attestation.

I don’t know where but I believe some where on this thread someone mentioned the office location in Lagos. When my fiancé got his it was about 7k but he lives in Ibadan. I’m not sure if Lagos would be the same price.

The office is at Eric Moore (S/Lere). It's the next compound to NYSC secretariat S/Lere

I just did this with the NVC. Make sure you upload the attestation AND affidavit declaration of age. You need BOTH documents. I only uploaded the attestation and waiting for three weeks and heard nothing. Then I uploaded the declaration of age.. the same day they accepted both documents and I was DQ'ed.
