I'm on this list too.. I'm waiting for my visa to be issued...

Hope someone can give us the answer to this question.

I’m guessing we might just need to do a new medical exam, making us pay another visa fee when the visa wasn’t issued yet is quite unfair. I also hope there’s going to be a new policy when they reopen that will make things easier for everyone both those waiting to be rescheduled and those waiting to be issued.

I don't see the reason why one should pay for another visa fee that wasn't issued. If this is the case that means those whose visa expired Don't stand a chance of extension but to start the entire process again.

It would be wise to prepare one's mind for the likelihood of getting fresh medicals while hoping it wouldn't be necessary. But really, what is the likelihood embassies will reopen soon now that USCIS has now reopened cautiously? I'm just hoping they open and issue the visas by mid to end of June or maybe in July. Why the delay in just issuing visas?

At this point I’ve prepared my mind for the worst including having to attend another interview. BUT!! Can they just open!!! Some countries have already resumed normal US citizen services with plans to resume normal visa services soon.  But no word from the US embassy here.

An expired visa cannot be extended.  Consulates can, at their discretion, re-issue the visa after a new medical, fees, and other possible new documents.  I don't see most having to re-do the entire process.

When I say entire process I meant going for another interview, paying fees and doing medical again.

Your last statement is my point exactly. Why the delay in just issuing visas after emailing to drop passport saying you've reviewed and completed the process. Huh?

A question please.

Is the ban by D. Trump on Immigrant visa in Nigeria lifted yet?

It’s still listed on the Nigeria website so I don’t think it’s been lifted.

I can understand that there's now increased vetting and security checks resulting from the ban, and of course the lockdown has shut almost everything down. But why don't they just issue the ones that have gone through the whole process and clear the backlog instead of lumping it all together? And they also don't think it necessary to update people on what is happening wrt their case. It's just crazy

I called NVC yesterday and after a 50 minute wait I was able to talk with someone. She sent an email to her supervisor and said they would create a ticket and it should be unstuck. She said sometimes they get stuck depending on where the form was sent or where it was coming from. Something to that effect any way. I pray she is right about it being untuck in a couple of days. There was system issues with the payment process my lawyer said. My husband will also be going to the embassy in Lagos. Just hope it doesn't take forever to get an interview date. He still has to get his medical once he receives his interview appointment letter.

As the sponsor i have also submitted all necessary document and it was all approved expect for the I-864 that was rejected twice. Can you please advise me on the prerequisite to file this form correctly e.g is the barcode on the I-864 necessary.

Hence, how do we know if all the documents has been accepted i.e will NVC notify us after all forms has been filed correctly or notify us with the interview date. Better still, what's the next step going forward.

Thank you.

Sis, the same happened to my wife. Her Form I-864 was rejected twice by NVC before she was advised to go on the IRS website to print out her tax return. She did that and submitted it and to our surprise, they accepted it. Right now am waiting for my interview date. Print out your form I-864 from the IRS site and submit it. It will be accepted.

Ours hasn't been rejected yet. I hope my lawyer wiuld tell me. We get emails when there has been a change to our case. The IV fees have been paid but not the AOS.fee. I guess we just wait at this point. If tbere has been no change by Tuesday I will call NVC again. Why was your I-864 rejected twice?
