To my knowledge there has been no definitive reports, I see a lot of speculation. Time will tell, I expect by the end of the month the situation will be much clearer, all this is far too new to come to any conclusion.

To my knowledge, there have no waivers approved in Nigeria.....to my knowledge, there have no immigrant visas issued since the ban started.  Hopefully, we can get more clarification.

The restrictions for the additional countries just took affect last week  so I think it’s too early to say what she heard is incorrect. Especially considering she got the information from someone that works at the embassy.

How many times do we see people post who were told they had passed their interview and would get their visa in a week and are now in AP and have been for a long time.

They are allowed to lie amusingly. Now whether they do so intentionally who knows.

Good news, in my opinion, will be actually seeing immigrant visas being issued....not words........Building false hope is of no benefit to anyone.....

They will print visa for approved ones after few days of Administrative processing and beside it seems that they are beginning to get all the information they need from our government and the ban seem to be lifted soon . They need more vetting on immigrant from Nigeria that is all

Do your part and pass your interview first and live the rest for them who knows if the ban will be lifted soon . Once you are approved when the ban is lifted you get your visa ASAP

I agree, I understand why people are concerned and why the speculation, I would like  to see a few actual cases go through. For now all you can do is your bit.

Hello Guys,

I just called a call from the Embassy in Lagos that my interview has been rescheduled for tomorrow.

Asked why and they said they have so many people for the 4th, and that they need to quickly interview few of us.

I asked, are they issuing immigrant visa to people, and he said yes, that it's those that have ties, and criminal background information that they ain't giving.

I also asked that a letter be sent to me in respect to the new date, he said when I get there, I'll see my name on the list and the time is still 8:30am.

He said, since I'm in Ikoyi it wont be an issue to come over and I told him I have a meeting at work.

I also asked about the public charge form, but hes explanation wasnt too good.

He said get a copy of your employment letter to show you work and all.

Prayers up guys.

Let's sort this out once and for all, my man is going to be happy its finally coming to an end.

Regards,

We got the call too....tomorrow 8:30am

I have been to the embassy three times with my husband making inquiries. since the implementation of the ban.  We have seen the letters that are issued stating that the applicants are eligible for waivers.   The letter has 2 boxes that can be checked...one says that you are ineligible and the other box says that you are eligible for the waiver...The letter we saw were given the waivers.  The CO determines your eligibility at the time of the interview.

The ban is on immigrant visas, however you are eligible for the waiver if you have close family ties to the petitioner in the US (spouse, parent, or child).

The Answer we have been looking for, it's getting clearer.
