Exactly! I was not sure when I filed so I added my ex spouse A# on my I-129F. No issues at all other than taking 299 days to approve. If that was the reason, but at least I did not withhold what they were asking for. If it's there to be found USCIS will find it eventually.

Where did you put her a#? Did you put it on the actual form somewhere?
approve as in the paperwork or to approve the k1 visa and all the process

It's been a while since I last saw the I-129F so keep that in mind.

For all government documents I have always followed the following rule. "read the instructions given with the document and answer the question".

If they only ask about a I-129F and you never petitioned for another one than the answer is "no" if they ask for I-129F or any other petition, than you answer yes. You must be honest but you also only have to disclose what they ask for.

It only asks “have you ever filed form I-129F for any other beneficiary?” And then the next question asked “if you answered yes”.

On the actual form part 1 question 44, I think it was.

USCIS is like a box of chocolates, you never know what kind of answer you are going to get!!!!

Just Answer no, as that is your answer. You did not file I-129f.

when they ask you about your spouse then answer with your spouse’s information.

Just take the questions literally and answer exactly what’s asked.

Under the additional information I put that about him. I referred to the page and section and item numbers where it is asking for former spouses names  “(ex spouse full name) I-130 recipient. A#- - - - - - - - -  month/day/year it was done.

do you think that was overkill and I should just leave it out? It doesn’t ask about my exes’ immigration status at all anywhere on the paper work.

i just don’t want to seem “sketchy” for leaving that detail out but I also don’t want it to take them even longer to process my petition like a  previous poster said.

Maybe it took them a minute for them to figure out what you meant? I didn’t include an a# in that section under question 43 (about any previous I-129Fs since I didn’t ever do one in the past) but I included it in the additional information pertaining to the section where it is asking me about former marriages.

did you maybe mention that the a# was a result of an I-130 petition in the additional notes?

No I did not mention it there. She is a USC at this point so that is water long under the bridge.

Dear you are thinking too much about this form. I asked my cousin who is lawyer about whether I should include details of my past marriage and she said that it is not necessary to answer what not asked. She said just answer what is asked and leave the rest to them, either way they will look through the form and find your information and you won’t be penalize for information that they didn’t asked.
