I-751 FEBRUARY 2020 FILERS

My wife (GC holder) is being asked by her work to provide proof of work authorization.  Her GC expires Feb 28 and we will send the package out this week.  Does any one know what the process is once the package is sent? Is there a letter they send back that serves as an extension while it is being processed? How long does this extension letter typically take to receive? Thanks!

Hi! Read this guide specially the part about Mailing the Packet & What to do While You Wait.

I don't know how long it usually takes. You could check the i-751 January 2020 filers to have an idea how long it took for them to receive the extension letter.

I hope this helps! :) Good luck!

I just sent the package in the mail! It should arrive on Mon. I am so relieved now! Let the waiting game begin! 😁

Since this process takes over a year, I will probably apply for the citizenship next year this time around. Who else is thinking of doing that? 🙋‍♀️

I just took ours to the post office today. My wife's conditional Green Card expires March 15, 2020. Checking the website today it still says to use the 12/2/19 edition of the form, so we should be good to go.

Hi Efren! Mine was delivered yesterday to the Phoenix lockbox.

From what I've seen in the January 2020 thread, we should hear from them in approximately 5 - 7 days.

Hi Debbie, hopefully it doesn’t take as long as some ppl have taken to get the 10Y card , I have heard cases that took less than a year and other almost 2, so we’ll see how it goes for us

Wow! Almost 2 years?! That's crazy!

We got lucky in the AOS process. Ours took less than 6 months from beginning to finish.

Let's see how it goes! But I'm planning to apply for the citizenship next year in February when my window opens. What about you?
