I think you should upload as soon as you receive them.  If you don't they might not look at anything.  And if they do look at your paperwork and all REQUIRED documents are not there, they won't give you an interview unless you submit them online.  That being said, for your husband, did you provide 2018 tax firm or 2019?  If 2018, I think you may just need to provide latest pay stubs (just to prove income is ongoing).  For the joint sponsor, what tax year did they provide u with?  If 2018 you will need that year's paperwork and latest paystubs for proving ongoing income.  If 2019, you need to submit everything online after they provide you with everything.  Good luck!

For my husband, we sent a letter explaining why he has no income tax returns prior to 2019 and together I sent proof of payments as proof of current income and was aproved. In January I sent the 2019 tax return along with w2 and 1099. The joint sponsor will send me the taxes for 2016, 2017 and 2018 because he will only declare in April the year 2019. I also requested the current income proof.

My doubt is because I have seen here some cases where all the documents were approved and it was highly recommended that for the interview the documents of the joint sponsor be taken so that the process can be approved. I do not know if I am being clear about this but if it is not an option, already answer my question anyway. Thanks!!!!!!

15th December Submitted Docs and AOS/ds260

Got a rfe email on 13th Feb for my husband’s W2s from 2018

even though 2018 transcripts were uploaded and they contain the same info *facepalm*

so waiting for the case worker to review the additional info submitted as my husband uploaded his W2s on 14th Feb.

Im just hoping it’s not another 8.5weeks for review of one additional document 😭

Did your husband file his 2018 taxes jointly and was the income shown on the transcript sufficient to meet the threshold for approval? I'm just trying to figure out if there's a logic to the w2 requests I've seen.

According to NVC W2s are needed when Taxes were filed jointly.

If you filed jointly: If you filed taxes under the “married filing jointly” category, you must also submit your Form(s) W-2 or schedules(s) from the most recent tax year.

That would be why then. If you file jointly, then you need to submit w2s because it won't be obvious from the transcript what the breakdown of income earned was. It's marginally reassuring to know that their requests for further info have some logic and follow their own rules. Appreciate that doesn't help the delay you may experience. Good luck!

Thanks

makes it easily to go through the process if there’s reason behind a request.

Being rejected after such a long wait is heartbreaking. Our submission was on Dec 17th and we're waiting to hear back from NVC

Great attitude. I suggest anyone struggling to teach a loved one or colleague the virtue of patience should make them go through the i130 process. You won't get a better education anywhere for under $1,500

So if we filed MFJ and didn’t send our W2’s  & used a joint sponsor do you think it’d be a problem with Nvc? The joint sponsor submitted tax transcripts and employment letter.

If I were to submit the w2 now (submitted December 27) would that send us to the back of the line? 😩

This wait is starting to drive me crazy!  It will be six weeks since our 2nd submission for an error NVC made.  I'm happy for those who have received DQ's quickly but I can't believe their insane process.  Rant over...thanks for listening 😁
