Jan 15 is case creation date, for processing of submitted files their website lists Dec 10th.

Hi everyone,

I was under the impression that we needed to submit evidence of our marriage, under the civil documents tab on the CEAC website. Such as photos of the wedding and hard evidence like joint bank accounts, and affidavits, etc. But i don’t see anywhere to upload that too. I do see a tab for “other.” Would that be the correct area to upload this type of documentation? If it’s even needed. Also it’s pretty much exactly what we sent in for our I-130?  Thank you for any help. I really appreciate it!

Yes, you have to upload on the “other” tab. But it’s only if you have new evidence, if it’s the same evidence of the I-130 then I wouldn’t upload that. But up to you.

Hi everyone,

Just got off the phone with NVC and they confirmed they received our case on the 12th, YAY!

I was wondering whether we need to wait for a case number before we can do an expedite request? I've heard of one person doing it and it was approved, but when I asked the representative he said he wasn't sure it would be ok without a case number.

Also, a heads up for anyone else who is planning on doing an expedite - the guy told me you should make sure to include what embassy you'll be interviewing. Apparently that info isn't immediately available to them on their system, something like that. He said mentioning your embassy in your expedite request helps them a lot.

Our CR1/ IR1 Journey:

  • Feb 5 2020: Approved I-130 Sent to NVC (12 days after I-824 NOA2)

Same thing happened to us. My wife in Russia received a letter from the NVC three months after the case creation in January. Our case was created November 7th. Go figure.

You put you case number in both the subject line and body of the email.. the 3 initials should be enough for them to I’d embassy. also, genrally in the body if you mention country it’s usually pretty easy to determine.. eg in our case, we were complaining about continued refusal of an Australian document.. we only have the one embassy for immigration.. but I guess stating I wanted Expidite to Sydney for them to approve official aus document couldn’t have hurt.. pretty sure I’ll do that next time if they refuse Expidite

Thank you for your reply. I’ve been lurking/reading the forum daily and been getting angry for you at the experience you’ve had! I hope they approve your request, if they don’t then that’s ridiculous. Let me know when you get an answer!

I think the reason he said to mention the Embassy is because we want to expedite before we receive our NVC case number.

I’ve heard of people being approved for expedite without an NVC number and just using their USCIS reference number, so long as NVC has received it.

I think we’re going to give it a try. If they tell us to wait for an NVC case number and do it again then we’ll do that. No harm in trying! 😊

It happens... if you submit before NVC number they might approve and send it straight the embassy or they may approve a conditional Expidite eg.. they express it after you upload docs.. so could go both ways

definately try if you think you have a case for Expidite
