Quick question, again lol.

My husband just got a new position within his company and he had to update his fed info - the new filling status only has two options.

married filing jointly / Single or Married filing separately. He chose the latter and it has his as married and the date of marriage, I guess that is OK?

Mine looks also like that. I submitted everything on Feb 1st and added a translation on  Feb 4th just to be on the safe side. I see we have a very similar timeline since the start! I've been checking to see if something changes in my ceac ,  but I guess this will remain like this until the case is DQ in about two months.... anyone knows?

yea i'm thinking the same thing.  it changes to accepted i think once they DQ it.

Hi Matt, this was a question I was asking about yesterday too!

I updated my W4 prior to 2020, and those were also the only choices I had- I chose Single or Married Filing Separately and my 2019 W2  displays as 'SINGLE'. I thought this was an error, but after waiting 3 weeks for HR & ADP to get me a revised W2, I heard back yesterday that since my updated W4 is listed as 'Single or Married Filing Separately', it will only display as SINGLE. so I guess it is what it is... I wish the W2 showed that full selection of Single or Married Filing Separately.

There's nothing I can do about it, and if needed, I can print my W4 that lists the full choice I have selected...

y'all I have ANOTHER question. 😬

Today I am sending in my taxes. And it got me thinking about my W2's.

I have a full time job, that I've been with for 9+ years. This job alone more than safely satisfies the I-864 requirements... For the 864 I uploaded tax transcripts for 2018, 2017 & 2016 & the W2's for those years for my full time job.

However, 2018 & 2016- I have a second W2 for a  different company- it's a temp. part time job I usually do for a few weeks each year for some extra travlin' money. It's really not a significant amount. 2016 $1500 and 2018 approx $3900. These amounts are included in my total income earned on the Tax Transcripts.

I didn't upload the W2s for that second job for those 2 years that I have them for.

Do you think they'll ask for them? I only just uploaded all docs and apps this week on CEAC- should I make another submission today for those 2 W2's?

I'm feeling like, I should. ??

Sadly you go back to the end of the queue. We had to re-submit our AOS. 6 weeks and counting.

Hey does anyone have a reference for a letter justifying not filing taxes? I've filed the previous years no problem and submitted those transcripts but for 2019 i was unemployed so i want to be prepared with a letter of justification if asked to submit it. If anyone has any info on this matter or links i could check that would be appreciated.

@LilyJ, @MWhite and @Mr & Mrs T. I finally managed to convince him, with your help to amend his filings, we now have accurate W2's and 1040s for when we finally get an interview. Thanks!

We just wrote a very short letter stating why my husband didn't file and listing the years he didn't file, it was 3 lines, then signed and dated. We then provided proof (i.e. overseas student registration details) It was accepted by the NVC.

Haha honestly maybe I am being overly cautious with everything but with all the delays over little silly things I’ve seen on here and I’ve experienced myself I think it’s the best way to go.
