That’s what I was thinking that C21 is a visa type. And IR  is a petition type so I kind of ignored it.

Sorry about the delay @stech786. I think you should have uploaded ur Naturalization certificate at the NVC stage because, NVC always likes to state that they're different from USCIS. Uploading it is verifying. That being said, your new category visa should be CR1 (if ur wife gets her interview and enter the US before ur 2nd year marriage anniversary). If she enters after the anniversary date, then she'll be given an IR1 visa stamp.

Hi @stech786!

Petition and Visa types are different.  My petition is an EB3,  which is employment based. Once issued the type of visa will be EW3 for me, EW4 for my spouse and EW5 for my children. So it may be the same with CR1/IR1, that's the petition type. 

Anyone that has received their passport lately could maybe tell you what's the visa type printed in their passport and whether their petition was CR1 or IR1

yeah i know that but just confused.because there was no option of cr1...only option related to me was i.r or i.r.1 and still got confused between i.r. or i.r1

my brother didn’t have upload his certificate. His PD was 2017 & mine 2018.

I have question we received an email with our interview date but no message on the online portal. The medical facility is requiring the letter with interview apt, the email that we recd has both invoice id and case number on there, i thought those were private and cant be given to the medical examiners office

CR1/IR1 is Visa Category for US citizens petitioning for spouse
C21/F21 (F2A also) is Visa Category for LPR petitioning for spouse

I have seen them many times ask for Naturalization certificate. Just be ahead of the game like i posted yesterday and upload it now to NVCExpedite@state.gov

You have to bring the email with the interview date. They only want to know your case number, maybe the interview date too, and they will give it back to you after you finish the medical.

So my consulate in Manama had asked me to upload everything to the ceac website before the date of the interview. 

This doesnt mean I ll have to re-upload all the initial docs like birth certificate and all that again right? I already uploaded these while the case was at NVC. My consulate was jus referring to any extra docs, if so, right?

its totally fine.dont wory about mesasage on portal.just see your case status it should say case at=your embasyy whtever it is.and just print out that email and you are good to go for medical.that email is your letter
