I thought I was IR-1, since I'm a US citizen? When I submitted my i-130 I was green holder in 2018, became USC Mar 2019. upgraded my petition to IR-1 In June..etc

Because that is what you started as Just like people who started asa CR1 but will be IR1 when they arrive.

 

I would however call NVC to make sure you are upgraded in their system. That may be the reason for the delay. You are in the wrong queue.

When you say DR, do you mean the Dominican Republic?

That's not true. The ONLY difference between a CR1 and IR1 is CR1 gets a 2 year green card and has to Remove Conditions and  a IR1 gets the 10 year. As far as scheduling there is no difference. It's not like scheduling difference between a LPR and Citizen. That's what determines it's the category IR1/CR1 is the same category.

 

@stech786 i believe they have you miss labeled in the system. Unless you are India, Canada, Mexico or Egypt you should have been had an interview. Best tome to call NVC is first hing in morning or close to closing. You have to keep calling till you get through.

Even if I was in F2A, currently, VISA bulletin board shows Nov 2019 PD. I was in May 2018. Either way I should get something??

 

i know plenty of people waited 2 years before filing. Everyone has their personal choice and timeline to file.

 

Heck i filed and hubby had visa before our 1st year anniversary. Now we getting ready for Citizenship interview. wooo whooo.

I forgot to ask Expedite the case as it was an error on their side. Should I wait to see what they find out. I mean I already know it should be IR-1. But I want to speed up this process ASAP!

Yes call right back and tell them you qualify to be expedited due to USCIS/NVC error.

I know a lot especially people living in spouse country lol Like me. I married 2/14/10 and filed 12/3/18, almost 8 years later lol

I also got in touch with my local congress office, who has been assisting.  Here is what she said.

 

Our office has submitted an inquiry and expedite request to the National Visa Center. We have included both the USCIS confirmation email, as well as the screenshot you have provided. As soon as we receive a response I will update you accordingly.

 

I am calling NVC back to request, I'm afraid, they will ask me to fill out an online form to expedite it or they will let us first review if its an error blah blah and so on

what is the status of people in C21 category anyways? I don't see any on this forum discussing this category
