I just got off the phone with agent. She said, she will let her supervisor review the case and update their status. SOB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 

I forgot to ask Expedite the case as it was an error on their side. Should I wait to see what they find out. I mean I already know it should be IR-1. But I want to speed up this process ASAP!

Best thing to do.  Someone on another forum I'm on had the same issue.  They were attempting to upgrade the petition after USCIS approval, through NVC and it caused a headache.  I suspect you may have to resend your citizenship certificate or a copy of your US passport. 

 

We upgraded before we made it through USCIS.  It shouldn't have taken as long as it has if USC get unlimited spousal visas, but here we are...still.

You can send an expedite e-mail request to NVCExpedite@state.gov.  They actually get back to you reasonable quickly.  They'll need the following info in the letter: 

 

Request for NVC Expedite: Case ID

maybe you can write in with this, requesting the expedite and explaining what happened.

I'm happy its getting sorted though!

On the state department's website here - https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/the-immigrant-visa-process/interview/after-the-interview.html it says that you'll receive a packet, saying "Sealed Immigrant Packet - You will also receive a sealed packet containing documents that you must present to U.S. Customs and Border Protection at a port-of-entry (often an airport) upon your arrival in the United States. You must not open the sealed packet." 

 

Is that not the case for everyone?

Almost all embassy now are electronic so no more sealed packet. Safety for everyone.

I thought US citizen had immediate visa, unlimited  

PD for Citizens has to do with placement. IR1/CR1 are scheduled different then LPR filers.

Because that's what I do I follow posting and of course the good people fill out the forms to be added  or update my spreadsheet. DR so far.

Also there's groups on Facebook you can hear the chatter at times people post they got IL.

Nothing wrong with bringing updated evidence. This is the time you can bring the beautiful albums and binders and frilly stuff. Better to have and not need, then need then not have.
