Oh ok I am sorry , not too sure how to advise here. I was also upgraded in August 2019 and my visa category is showing IR1 on CEAC. Maybe it’s best to give them a call or enquire with your embassy.

thanks for confirming that!! I feel FOOL, if I was just waiting...what is best way to connect to NVC staff, everytime I call, they are busy!!!!!!!

on my CEAC login it says, VISA CLASS C21
why does it says VISA CLASS C21

This is what I found. Is your spouse a permanent resident that you’ve been married to for less than 2 years? If not they may have mistakenly miscategorized you.

My spouse is overseas. I am a US citizen. Got married in April 2018.

If you’re a citizen you don’t need a greencard. Do you mean you’re a lawful permanent resident?

I think its cause you guys havent been married 2 years as yet.

####### is this ####### Rule.(sorry not mad at you) As far I know, it takes 9-10 months if you are a US citizen filing for husband/wife. few ppl in my own family got their process done in short time because of US citizen. Even I wasn't a US citizen, the visa bulletin shows F2A is as of Nov 2019, WAY ahead of my PD. either way, I should get something.

Yeah, the 2 year thing isnt what is hindering your progress, that just means that if you got approval and your spouse enters the country before your second anniversary, then they get the conditional greencard.

You being a citizen is what should be propelling this forward, thats what happened with us, the moment I became a citizen, everything started moving forward. So something is causing this wait

Yea thats exactly what happened. As soon as I became US citizen, everything started moving forward. But then why some people have CR1, then why isn't everyone C21 category because everyone files day after they get married (LOL)...why would someone wait 2 yrs for being married and file to be in IR1-CR-1... does that mean I have more wait?

Even if I was in F2A, currently, VISA bulletin board shows Nov 2019 PD. I was in May 2018. Either way I should get something??

I dont think anyone waits the two years before filing, we certainly didnt, and I know a bunch of people who got conditional green cards. If this thing came through back in Sept, we'd have gotten a conditional as well, but Im just happy that we dont have to do that anymore.

You got married in april you say, so your 2nd year isnt very far off.

Also I thought someone said PD doesn't matter for citizen filing for spouse, only perm resident. idk
