Timeline

I compared my timeline with many others that filed in December 06 for the AOS and now even people who filed way later than I did, have gotten their gc mailed already or at least have an interview date.

Me? Nothing, nada! :(

Not even a touch since January 20!! :(:(:(

Is there anything I should do at this point, or anything I CAN do?

I am afraid I missed out on something.............but I haven't gotten any mail from USCIS, no RFE's..just nothing.

And if I missed something in the mail (which I don't believe I did, I never had problems before) I would assume, there would be something online when I check my portfolio on the USCIS website...

Any ideas??

I WANT MY GREENCARD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :help::help::help:

What does your online case status say right now? I assume you got transferred to the CSC from your info? If so most likely you'll just have to be a bit more patient.

Not much you can do, sounds, like stuck in name check, I know of some waiting a year or two and not seeing anything. Some file for EAD, and have renewed the EAD 2 or 3 times waiting.

There is absolutely no predicting how long it can take.

Just hang in there.

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.

I have a question for a friend, do some applicants get stuck in FBI name checks even if their cases were transferred to CSC?

Yes.

Thanks again Dr_LHA. Follow-up question: Do you know of anyone ever tried to request for access of his/her FBi rap sheet and was successful with the request prior his/ her interview date? (AOS)

Yes, my case got transfered to CSC, that's the last "touch/update" from 1/20/07.

It says:

Application Type: I485, APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS

Current Status: This case is now pending at the office to which it was transferred.

The I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS that was transferred to our CALIFORNIA SERVICE CENTER location is now pending there. You will be notified by mail when a decision is made, ........

Is the length of the namecheck depending on the name (common or uncommon) and do they check on my married or my maiden name?

Necause my maiden name is pretty uncommon, but my new married name is very very common (but it's not Smith!! )

Yes you get a touch, and no they don't tell you unless you ask CSC via email for an update, or get feedback from congress or senate representatives. Without an interview this is the only way to know.

According to the CSC timeline, they are now working on AOS cases from November. They won't give you much information until yours is 30 days outside the processing dates (so, when they start working on cases from January), but you could contact your senator/congress person to see what's going on. They'll likely only be able to tell you that you're stuck in name checks, but at least you'll know.

Good luck!

The USCIS aos timelines are for employment based applications and not marriage based apps.

CSC has stopped responding to emails - they respond with a generic "we don't respond to email from the public" email.

I waited 180 days after filing for aos beforee making an info pass appointment and then, by sheer coincindence, they touched my case and sent me an rfe for the full medical, as they lost the original. My senator is now involved.

K-1 Visa Journey

04/20/2006 - file our I-129f.

09/14/2006 - US Embassy interview. Ask Lauren to marry me again, just to make sure. Says Yes. Phew!

10/02/2006 - Fly to New York, EAD at JFK, I'm in!!

10/14/2006 - Married! The perfect wedding day.

AOS Journey

10/23/2006 - AOS and EAD filed

05/29/2007 - RFE (lost medical)

08/02/2007 - RFE received back at CSC

08/10/2007 - Card Production ordered

08/17/2007 - Green Card Arrives

Removing Conditions

05/08/2009 - I-751 Mailed

05/13/2009 - NOA1

06/12/2009 - Biometrics Appointment

09/24/2009 - Approved (twice)

10/10/2009 - Card Production Ordered

10/13/2009 - Card Production Ordered (Again?)

10/19/2009 - Green Card Received (Dated 10/13/19)

You won't get any notice from USCIS regarding namecheck, only touches. Touches are hard to dicipher too, no one knows what's really involved when your case gets touched. Like everyone else has said, it will involve being outside the normal processing time, making an infopass appointment, and/or calling your congressperson to get involved.

We filed our AOS in July 2006. We were transferred in October 2006. Our approval was May 2007. We contacted one of our senators about my husband's case back in April 2007. That's how we found out he was in namecheck.

They don't tell you about namecheck unless you get a congressman, etc involved, generally. At interviews, they'll say "approved pending namecheck". Your status is NOT going to say PENDING NAMECHECK or anything like that.
