yeah looks like they approved it without biometric but has no intention moving for actual card production, I heard some people's I-765 application got approved without biometric on June (with expedite request ) but haven't received the actual card yet

There's people with approved 765 waiting since may. Since they didn't do biometrics, no card was produced.

This is crazy. So we're waiting on a biometric appointment that we are told we don't even need before anything can happen. The agents don't even know what they are talking about. We should be first in line with our biometrics cancelled 3/18 and still no appointment notice yet.

I don't know what to do at this point... write my congressman?

I'll be calling USCIS regarding my approval tomorrow and see if there's any different information. I hope we don't get stuck in an approval limbo where we need a biometrics appointment for the card but none is scheduled because we're approved.

This is our concern precisely. We are having a tier 2 agent call us this afternoon. I want to know unoequivocally that my next step is the card will be produced. I feel like if we sit around and wait the 60 days or whatever and then they tell us we need biometrics... I will go ballistic!

Well now the Tier 2 rep says completely the opposite of Tier 1. Card will not be produced without biometrics (as we all know). Funny thing is I just heard from attorney and she said you CAN get a card with waived biometrics (a special stamp?). So now I'm hearing like 3 different things. Who knows what to believe. All I know is I want to get a biometrics appointment ASAP because that will solve everything no matter what. I am going to contact a congressperson as there is no reason I shouldn't be getting a new appointment considering I was the first one cancelled (3/18).

Is there anyone who missed the the fingerprints due to the shutdown gotten a biometrics notice yet? According to the website our office doesn't open back up until 07/27/2020... our biometrics appointment was literally on 03/18/2020 😩

Ours were around the same time.  Still nothing yet.  Hoping for a bypass.

So now the real relevant data points for all of us who missed biometrics due to the shutdown is who actually is getting rescheduled for biometrics?  We should be documenting everyone who gets new appointments as that's the real driver here.

Me ! My biometric appointments supposed to be on March/20. I-765 just got approved  but no words on the card, no reschedule notice either

Thanks for the update.  Question -  From which country is the beneficiary?

Yes I think we should. What's weird is I have not seen one user here or on reddit who has said "I am approved" and still getting a biometrics appointment. It's baffling.

It sounds like we actually are NOT hoping for a bypass though?  Sounds like people getting a bypass are stuck in a hampster wheel of getting a bypass for something they actually need for a card to be produced.

"Bypass" for 765 to get approved, but not for card. Just an imprecise use of language by USCIS reps.

Sorry.  I am so confused now.  What is the "card" we need?  A Social Security card?  Can people work with just the 765 approval itself?  Or does there have to be a 765 approval PLUS a card?

You need a physical Employment Authorization Document (as well as Advanced Parole if you want to travel). It looks like this:

You cannot work with the approval alone.

You need the employment authorization document (EAD) to start working. The approval letter just means your form was approved. To start working you need your EAD card. The card can't be produced without biometrics.

That's what I thought. So the important info is who has had biometrics rescheduled?  The "approval" is just a red herring and irrelevant. We need to share who gets actual biometrics reschedule letters.  Aside from @JoeIngleshas anyone else been rescheduled for biometrics post Covid shutdown?

And even more specifically, who has been "approved" (I agree, red herring), and gotten a new appointment. I am concerned we aren't getting new appointment because we're approved.
