We received the official paper NOAs for both EAD and AP in the mail on Saturday. Our status is "Case is approved" for both since 7/14. Waiting anxiously to get that Informed Delivery email lol 👀

Just to be super clear, your case status is "approved", but never went to the "card is being produced" status?

I called USCIS this morning at 8 am EST.  They have upgraded their phone systems since we went through the K-1 process, so I'm happy about that.  They also made me act in the capacity of translator in order for them to get permission from Claudia for me to speak on her behalf.

The representative that I spoke with said that letters are starting to go out.

What was noteworthy was that if biometrics "are already on file from some other source," then they are skipping biometrics, depending on ASC in a person's area.  Other than that, he said that we should expect something in the mail soon regarding biometrics.

My wait time was less than 5 minutes to get to a live person.

Thank you for sharing. Your experience nudged me to call USCIS. I called around 3:30PM, waited 28min.

 - no new biometric date is in the system for us. Our ASC opened on 13 of july.  They suggested to call back within 90 days of ASC opening. I cannot wait that long as my work visa will expire and we will face severe financial hardship.
- rep told me to call tomorrow as he cannot transfer me to Tier 2 team that can expedite or provide more information. So apparently worst days to call are Mondays and Fridays. Once Tier 2 gets swamped they stop accepting new calls.

Hope my feedback was helpful. Will report back once I hear anything tomorrow.

I don't understand how I'm the only one who has been told that biometrics are "bypassed" and that the card is being produced. Wife called today to confirm, thinking I misheard, but they said the same thing, we are approved, but could take 60 days to get the card. And that they wouldn't approve the 765 without the biometrics (is this true?). My understanding is that they can approve the 765 without biometrics but the card will not be produced. I am so confused.

No one knows what policy they are applying. They can approve EAD without biometrics but some folks who dont have any prints in the systems or some other whacko reason are not getting approved based on missing prints. At then end of the day , no one knows . its a case by case basis as USCIS is a blackhole

What's weird is they say the card is approved but my status online has not moved to card is being produced. Some disconnect between systems? Or maybe in their previous experience no one is approved without biometrics but now because biometrics have been so delayed they are seeing these events?

usually status  moves from "Case is Approved" to "Card in Production " and "USPS picked up your package". Usually there is a lag between the three statuses. In the past it took 2 business days to move from 1 to 2 and 2 days from 2 to 3 and than 2 days to deliver the card at the address.

Yes, but I've yet to see one that has been "approved" and not either before or the same day said "card is being produced". That is where I am at. Approved Thursday and still nothing about a card...

☆UPDATE☆

7/20/2020: I-765(EAD) status was changed to “Card was mailed To Me”! 🥳

                      Things are moving finally.

@James120383, see how @Kamakiri had "New Card Is Being Produced" before "Case Was Approved"? That's the same thing I've seen for all the other approvals as well. I've never seen "New Card Is Being Produced" after "Case Was Approved". That's why I'm so confused why I have "Case Was Approved" but nothing else but when I called USCIS they said it's approved and biometrics are bypassed. 😕

My I-765 got approved last Thursday and I called USCIS today asked about biometric appointment, my biometric was scheduled on March 20th but canceled due to COVID 19. Never received the reschedule notice. The USCIS representative told me they already bypass the biometric too, he said they recently has an internal notice to bypass the biometric if they can. Hopefully it is true and we can get the EAD card soon

Wow THANK YOU I feel like I was taking crazy pills. Interesting about the internal notice. The lack of communication coming from them is pretty bad though!
