Probably my first post, but since we've managed to apparently finish this portion of the journey I figured I'd post our timeline to keep the hope alive for everyone waiting:

2/14/2020 : I-485, I-765, and I-131 sent to USCIS

2/18/2020 : NOA for receipt for forms (don't recall date we actually got the letter)

3/17/2020 : Biometrics for I-485, I-765, and I-131 (beat the closure by about 3 hours!)
6/17/2020 : NOA for approval of I-485 (COA: IR1)

6/23/2020 : Received mailed copy of the approval NOA

7/7/2020:   Received permanent resident green card

Not exactly sure how we skipped right into the permanent resident green card without any interviews, but I'm certainly not going to complain.  I was definitely a slacker in getting my wife's AOS started and we've been married 15 months at this point.  Still quite a bit shy of 2 years though.

Don't look a gift horse in the mouth as they say! When we got our interview wavier back in April I racked my brain trying to figure out how I rated to get it!!! Until this day I could not figure out the criteria as to why some of us got approved without an interview so I stopped trying to figure it out.  Just very fortunate is all, I can see  we share local offices (Dallas), but that's not it because many other couples that got the wavier came from all over the states. Anyway congrats and enjoy. Don't slack off on the ROC better be saving all kinds of materiel as I am sure we will get an interview come time for the ROC!!!!!

What I didn't realize when I got the NOA is that IR1 is the permanent 10 year green card and not the conditional (CR1) 2 year one.  So I was shocked when her card was showing a 2030 expiration date

That seems to be a common USCIS mistake. Here on the forum a few cases like this have been described, and they say you should report it to USCIS, as they are going to find out anyway

I'm  retired  from the military but  I don't  think that had  anything to do with it.

Thanks for the info and glad I posted. I figured maybe they were maybe trying to clear the logjam and 15 months is somewhat close to 24. Didn't search to see if that is a common error. I'll check with them and see what they say.

That was the first thing I thought when I saw ur approval without interview before. But we won't know for sure the reason behind it. 😆

I was hoping to skip the interview too but no luck so far. Hehehehe
