Asc offices are opening from july 13th in a phased manner and walk ins are not welcomed at all. Uscis first priority is naturalization ceremony.

Just saw the news in Twitter too. Thanks for sharing. Also they are going to send worksheet with new appointment letter to be filled out ahead of time.

2nd last week of February - had my biometrics scheduled for March 23rd so they never really happened. Until this pink document, I never really received any update from them

My H1b also expires in October. I am toying with idea to expedite in August.

When did you submit your application?

That’s really interesting, best of luck with the request! My L1 expires in October and been heavily considering the expedite request route - was just going to wait for the biometrics first.

Please keep us in the loop on how this progresses.

Bad news guys. His biometrics are over 15 months old which means they can’t expedite the EAD. 😞

Oh wow,  so sorry to hear about that. I did not know there is pre-req like that, what is their cut-off date?

Also, how biometrics can change? Aren't they the same fingerprints?!

February 5th 2020: AOS Sent to Chicaogo Lockbox via FedEx.

✔February 10th 2020: Status online: "USCIS Recieved Case"

February 14th 2020: Status Online: "NOA 1 Sent by mail"

April 17th 2020: Status Online: "Case Ready to be Scheduled for interview"

My husband and I, like everyone else is anxiously awaiting his EAD card. There seems to be a good amount of January filers who have receieved theirs and some who are still waiting. I checked the processing times at the California Service Center since the closest 'Field Office' to me is in Imperial, California 1 hour away.

However, my question is how do I know if my husband's EAD & Green Card are being processed in California or whether they are still at the National Benefits Center in Chicago?

All AOSers sent their form to Chicago lockbox initially... and our status does indicate which office it's currently at.

I ask this because processing times are moving along quickly at California Processing Center, so I'm hopeful. They have processed January Filers through Jan 19th 2020. Where as at the National Benefits Center they are still processing October Filers through Oct 21st 2019.

EAD/ AP gets processed at the NBC. With the ready to be scheduled update your AOS file left to the local field office so it's sitting there now waiting for an interview to be scheduled.

Thanks so much for the prompt response. I truly appreciate it!

Aww man I was truly hoping it was the other way around. We are so desperate for that EAD but hey whichever one comes first is fine. Either way works, provided that anyone of them will come SOON. I will check the California processing times for the AOS and stay hopeful for EAD. 50% of January filers in this forum seemed to have receieved luck with having there EADs already. I know very few February filers have gotten theirs too, while a majority of us are still patiently anxiously waiting lol 😅

I don’t know why biometrics expire! 😭 But the cut off is 15 months according to the agent. Seems so arbitrary.

I am not K1 AOS but below may be useful for you too.

So I requested to expedite my EAD based due to severe financial loss ( my work visa expires this Autumn).
Here is response. I am mot sure if it is considered as denial or no.

Our records indicate that we are awaiting your appearance for biometric processing. Your case is currently in suspense or on hold until we receive your biometrics.  Your application information has been entered into the system which schedules applicants for biometrics at their local ASC. Once you have been scheduled, you will receive an ASC Appointment Notice containing the date, time and location of your appointment.  You must take the ASC Appointment Notice and photo ID to your appointment. You may request expeditious processing again once we have received your biometrics.”

Hi everyone,

can we just request the expedition for the EAD or do we need to have a valid reason? Is there a form for it?

This is my question exactly. I believe a valid reason is needed but I'm not 100% sure. My husband's I-94 and K1 visa expired in April. I assumed we're not out of compliance for waiting and pending the AOS I-485 and the EAD I-765. We'll see.

That's annoying. I saw a post somewhere on here that suggested they weren't going to open until the 22nd. I guess nothing more to do than keep waiting.

I have to be on that side of town in the morning.  I'll swing past there and see if there's any activity and report back.
