Hey guys! Can you give some insight about my RFE?

they are asking for my spouse’s “most recent tax return (2018)”

which i’m pretty sure i included. We haven’t however filed yet for 2019.. i’m wondering if they want that?

do i go ahead and file for the 2019 one or just submit the 2018 one again since that’s the only thing they asked for?

thank you.

Since u already submitted the 2018 I think they are asking for the most recent and that’s the 2019 tax. I think if u haven’t filling yet u can send A copy of the 2019 W2 .

My husband and I sent 17-18-19 w2 and transcripts

If you sent a 1040 rather than a tax return transcript, did you include all W-2s (if any), all 1099s (if any), and all other schedules?

/incidentally, this is why it's better to send transcripts than returns; you don't need to send anything else with them

Your RFIE notice came fast. Still haven’t got mine in the mail.

I have a suspicion of what my RFIE may be about. I never got my NoA2 during the k1 process. Was only notified that my case was with NVC and that was how I knew of my approval. So during my i485 application, I was not able to submit the noa2 notification. Just submitted NVC letter, my k1 visa page and i94 as substitute with a note that I never received the notice as advised here on VJ.

Anyways, until I get the notice....

It’s a mix of emotions, Sad for the RFIE And glad that they looked at our case again. 😂

interesting, i wonder why the NOA2 never came? My AOS / AP / EAD NOA1s Never reached me and was returned because it was addressed under my name, i had to request for them to Re-send it after 30 days.

i had to edit my address and add my Spouse as a C/O 🤦🏻‍♀️

Finally got the RFIE in the mail today. They’re asking for additional tax docs.

I see what you mean by “mix of emotions” This is way better than what I suspected, 🙂 Still a bum that I missed it in the first place tho.

Hopefully will have it sorted and mailed back to them tomorrow.

Hi guys, what’s your opinion about this. I was looking at my annual credit reports last night and I saw that ‘Citizenship & Immigration’ looked at my credit score/report multiple times (more than 8 times in 3 different days, of which 5 of the times they looked was on the same day). I know that USCIS does consider your credit score, but I thought it was only for people who applied on February 24th or after. It shows on my annual credit report as a soft inquiry, which does not damage my credit score (which is already damaged enough on its own 😂). Let me know what you guys think, and if I should be worrying as my credit is bad.

I believe this might be a part of the background check procedure.

My experience of background check involves checking credit history(though this is not relevant to the AOS process), and this is to identify names and addresses which may be used for further investigations like FBI name check and so on.

Here's my part of the previous background check report (again, this is not relevant to the AOS process) to help your understanding.

And, it may be good for you to google "ID Trace Pro" and see their description to know how these results are used in practice.

Seems like the USCIS sending RFIE's to a lot of people now?

RFEs are not a bad thing 🙂🧡. I got an RFE both for the visa process and the green card process. USCIS is just wanting you to clarify something that was not well understood by them in the application. In my husband's visa application we got an RFE because his passport photos were with a red background and they wanted a white background. In the RFE for the AOS ( Adjustment of Status/Green Card), we got an RFE for submitting the I-134, Affidavit of support instead of the I-864 Affidavit of Support. Think of the RFE as a good thing, because at least clarification was asked rather than a flat out denial. Also whenever I got RFEs I always heard back from them in 3 weeks or less. The Visa was 3 weeks later, the AOS was about 10 days later. Goodluck!

I called USCIS to inquire about my biometrics appointment. I was told that they’re gonna open tomorrow? I tried looking it up on the USCIS website but I’m not sure if I’m just looking at the wrong page or it’s not really indicated there. Has anybody tried calling them?

Thank you. Stay safe everyone! God bless ♥️

Hi, I’ve looked at the link above and don’t see my field office on there but when I look it up it doesn’t seem to be open either. Also I believe biometrics are handled by Application Support Centers all of which are closed. Can a field office also be an App support Center?
