@Jujusmom My husband's case status changed today online to "Ready to be scheduled for interview" 🤩🙌🏿🙌🏿 we are thrilled!

EVERYONE: I think there was an interview thread somewhere in this forum, pls feel free to respond to this with the link if you find it. I'm a bit nervous. We never applied for an SSN for my husband because in the EAD I-765 form on question #14 we indicated that he didn't have one and we wanted one included with the EAD card.

Reference (https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=https://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/USCIS/Working%20in%20the%20US/EBE_Flyer_Apply_for_your_Social_Security_Number_While_Applying_for_Your.pdf&ved=2ahUKEwjLv6WP8vDoAhXTr54KHdJNDRwQFjAAegQIARAB&usg=AOvVaw1T0EeRxTIWA1gKIk3E53zN)

Being that he doesn't have one I will not be able to add him to my bank account or car title/insurance or deed to the house right now. My 2019 tax return did not include him since he just came to the country January 2020. Not sure what other "joint proof" to bring to the interview other than the marriage license and picture of the court wedding... any suggestions of how to handle this?

Yayy! Congratulations! So happy for you and your husband! 💕 I just received a notification today too that my case is ready to be scheduled for interview. It’s so awesome!

Ha. I hope you’re wrong too. I feel like this is the diff between news in the USA vs Canada. I feel like Canadian news broadcasters are more ‘factual’ and less speculative. Less opinionated for sure. Like I said, I find the news in the US very hard to follow. Like, who do you listen to? I feel like they all report the same event a million different ways.

As we all wait for the official language of the executive order, I just wanted to share some good news. The New York Times this morning is reporting language similar to Bloomberg’s yesterday, that spouses and children would be exempt from the ban. This is a shift over night for NYT. Could just be a different reporter. Also could be their sources are aligning more with Bloomberg’s and have reason to think spouses and families will be exempt from the ban. Of course, no matter what the words are, they still would

need to open offices to truly start the process again.

Reuters is now reporting that the executive order might not be ready until tomorrow and that it currently looks like it will apply only to people outside the US borders and not to those already here. But let’s see what happens.

Yes. Spouses and minor children of US citizens are exempt. As well as those applying from within the USA.

As long as your son is under age 21. That’s what gathered from the EO. I, too, have 2 sons here with me ages 13 & 9.
