We just got our texts! But our check hasn’t been cashed yet. Is that bad? Or do they normally cash the checks after sending the text notifications?

Congratulations! Give it some time, I think our check was cashed about a day later.

sorry, didn't see this was already answered... not sure how to delete my post now. but the congratulations stand anyway ;)

Hello, I am new to this forum. We filed for AOS in feb 2020. I came in 2015 on a tourist visa then applied for asylum. Crazy story :( We got the NOA1 and NOA2 but I didn’t get my biometrics done on 03/30 due to the closure. We did apply for the whole thing: i485,i130, i765 and AP.Any chance they might use my old biometrics for my ead. I was allowed to work while asylum was pending. Just wondering. Covid19 seems like It might go on for months. Please don’t get mad if it’s the wrong place to ask this :(

My friend had pretty much the same story and unfortunately he had to do biometrics again for AOS.

Ah you filed in December. Was a little bit irritated that somebody from February already had an interview scheduled 😉

Don’t be irritated by other people getting lucky in some parts of this whole process. We filed our K1 visa before you did and had a much longer waiting process To getting that approved than you did.  The fact that we got lucky with the aos doesn’t mean there weren’t issues in the beginning of the process. Being away from each other miles apart while waiting for the K1 visa noa2 .... I would’ve much rather had that wait shortened any day over having a quick noa2 on the AOS

Just be positive and good things will come.

I'm sorry but I have absolutely no clue why you're telling me that 😊

Hi everyone. Just have a quick question..

I'm on F-1 OPT, which is going to expire on May 20th.

I got married in Jan (reentered the country on Jan 2nd from a overseas trip, but I have been in the US for about 10 years and travel a crazy ton for work. Didn't know about the 90-day rule thing before I started this process..., and well the deed is done so just fingers crossed this won't come up) and this is my AOS timeline:

2/21 Fedex
2/24 signed received, priority date
3/6 NOA text, date of notice
3/9 checks cashed
3/13 NOA for biometrics 3/31, date of notice

Obviously given the current situation, I didn't go to biometrics and am just patiently waiting for it to be rescheduled (I didn't contact them, just didn't show up).

I was originally going to expedite the combo card as soon as I get biometrics done, because I do still really need my income after May 20 and was hoping to not have a gap. Plus I will need to travel pretty soon for work reason. Well, originally.

My question now is .. If I can't get anything done and the OPT expires, do I reach out to my employer and tell them to stop paying me after May 20? I work in the arts and everything is cancelled right now, but we will make up for the events after the pandemic is over. I'm technically not working at the moment. It is a bit of a grey area since I'm still getting a paycheck every other week. My contract expires in July so I'm still getting paid until then unless I contact them.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Stay healthy and safe and home everyone!

What can you do if the sponsor did not have an income in the latest available year of tax forms but now makes more than 125% of poverty line?

submit latest payslips or a letter from the company that states the salary of the sponsor.

We did.

We did the same mistake as the guy making this thread

Filled up 1040 without 1099 and W-2. Need to refill i864 now.

Has anything changed since February 24th? It doesn't look like it.

Finally got my NOA1 Notices in the mail. Ead, Ap and AOS all accepted.

i had troubles receiving them and finally figured out why even if the address was correct.

Mailbox only had my husband’s name registered on it, so my notices were returned to USCIS because it was addressed to my name.

Tried being on the phone and e-mailing the representatives a few times.. none were that much of help.

fixed the problem by Changing my Address with my Husband’s name as the C/O, then filed a Case inquiry with Non received notice. 😅 Hopefully you guys won’t run into the same problem i did!

From my understanding that works only if one already had biometrics ( fingerprints, picture, signature) done at an ASC before. Doesn't include the fingerprints at the embassy/ consulate for getting the visa or at POE. Only for EAD extensions, it won't help with the AOS process.
