Had my interview at the Boston Field office today.

like @probingoduke said, the list of docs that came with the interview letter is good enough, in my experience anyway. That’s ALL I went with.

I (beneficiary) was called in first and went over the i485 form to verify if anything had changed. Only my new job was updated.

Questions asked:

-Name, D.O.B, spouse name, current address?

-Do I have allergies, does my wife have?

-Do we live in a house or apartment?

-Single or double family house?

-what floor of the house?

-Does anyone live with us?

-How many brothers do I have ? How many sisters? Any of them live in the U.S?

-Do I smoke? Does wife smoke?

-Previously married?

- What did we eat last night? Where did we eat?

-Did we eat together?

-Who made the food?

-Any tattoos on me? On my wife? What does it say? What part of the body?

-Location of washing machine? How are they stacked/placed?

-Any pets?

-Do we rent or own? How much is the mortgage payment?

-Any children, is wife pregnant?

-where I work? Where wife works? Job title?

-How did we get to the field office? How are we going back?

Then he asked if I had any docs I wanted to show him. I showed him pics, insurance cards and credit cards. He asked if he could keep them, I agreed and he kept them on file. He asked If I had any questions for him...

Then he walked me to the hall out one door and took my wife inside through another door making sure that there was no interaction between us. Went through the questions with my wife and told her we would get the card in mail within 2 weeks otherwise we should contact them.

I got the “your case has been updated tocard is being produced’ “ text message before we got home.

Congrats!! Really happy for you. questions: when did you file it? Did they ask for the I944? How long it took to get the i693? I did mine on 11/17 and I have my interview in Boston ON 12/01 I am scared that it will get delay since next week is holiday. Thank you

Filed on 02/22. But was received at USCIS office on 02/26. I wasn’t asked about the i994 but I was worried they’d ask so I printed a notice from USCIS website saying it only applied to applications postmarked on or after02/24. But I did not need to show it as it wasn’t asked for.

I693 is vaccination records right? I didn’t need that as I brought vaccinations records from my home country and submitted it with my i485 application.

Hi everyone! I just had my interview and I gotta tell you.. it was odd!

First, me and my husband went in together. Not sure if that is common, but it happened to us. She went over the I485 to see if we had any news, we updated her on my current job and his new job and she did not even ask for the new supporting docs until the end, when I mentioned!

She also did not ask for any docs at all besides our interview letter and id information. I found it super super odd to be honest. At the end she said that they are still waiting on some paperwork regarding to my application so she could not approve me right away but everything looked great and I should expect to hear in a couple of weeks, when they may receive the missing part of my application.

Did this ever occur with anyone? I am seriously worried. She did not even take my employment authorization card or anything haha

Now my case just updated to interview was completed and my case must be reviewed?? Hhaha that is so weird. If they did not have all my docs there, why did they schedule an interview in the first place?

Same happened for us. We were both called in together, our IO didn't ask for anything new apart from my medical.

She didn't ask for birth certificate, passports, etc. She also didn't really ask us anything about our relationship and instead just confirmed thaz everything on the I-485 was still correct.

I was surprised too, but later that day we got the update that our case was approved, so I wouldn't worry too much. I think in our case the originally provided documentation was enough for them to make a decision.

So yeah, same experience here, and everything went well for us. Good luck!

Ah I see! Do you think they would allow me to do a walk-in at another location? The main reason why I didn't go to my initial appointment was because it was hours away.

I was able to do a walk-in at my current location even though the I-131 was sent to my old address/field office. No harm in trying to walk in!

Ok thank you so much for sharing!! That is super helpful. Besides the missing documentation, I believe everything is good and we won't have any issues.. but thank you!

I understand that this is scary but honestly I interpret this as they didn't have much questions for you and just wanted to do an easy interview. Many folks have had that happen.

They can't say you are approved or denied to you on the spot as its generally the call of a superior officer. Keep an eye on your i485 I'm sure you are approved. Because they will explicitly tell you if they need to do a second interview or more proof from you.

Seems like several of the recent interviews were designed to trip a couple up. Glad you all came out on top and congratulations. It would not hurt for the folks awaiting their interviews to go over this material that has been shared with us and  for lack of a better term "rehearse" together!!!!! Just in case, just my opinion you'll need to give yourself every advantage!!!!!!!
