Hey guys, so I got an additional biometric for my I131 even though I completed that biometric appointment and I recieved my combo card a few days ago. After speaking to a Tier 2 officer, who called me back, (after 2 days), he told me that the biometric was erroneous and he will go ahead and cancel it for me. After I hung up I realized that I didn't ask for written proof. I used the emma chat to ask the officer if he could mail me a confirmation that my biometric was cancelled and he said he couldn't but he would put me in the queue again. I didn't expect them to call back so soon.. An hour and a half later, I spoke to another tier 2 officer, who was nice and she said that she would in fact send me a written confirmation via email, which she did. (It came in after 30 mins)

P.s my biometric was scheduled for this Monday and we would have had to drive for 3 hours to the asc center.

I was told that the tier 1 officer will call me back both times (I did this via Emma chat). The first time took 2 days and the second one a few hours.

The second time I told the officer via emma chat that my appointment was Monday and I would really like to hear back before that cause its a long drive. Was surprised by the quick call back!

Anyone in the same position please try this and see if it works for you!

Had our Green Card Interview today which went very smoothly and got approved!

Was asked questions about the documentation that was originally submitted and a couple of basic relationship questions with my spouse. The officer let me know that he then approved the application and to expect the card within the month.

Really easy and seamless experience, I was annoyed that my spouse didn't get any hard questions so they could share in my immigration pain but much happier that the process went well.

Congratulations to you!

What is a Field Office or Service Center for I-130 if location is Chicago?

I'm checking processing times but don't know about service center https://egov.uscis.gov/processing-times/

field office is your local office where you will have interview.

service center is depending on your type of case it can be california, nebraska, vermont, texas or national processing center. without details or receipt number no one can tell what you are asking for. Chicago is a lockbox where applications are sent.

duh

My I-765 status just updated to new card being produced!!! 😁

Congrats! I am glad your process is moving. I am wondering if you got any updates to your status before that. I had my biometrics on Oct. 19th, and my only update was "Fingerprints were taken." Hopefully I get my EAD soon as well!

Hello everyone!

My interview is scheduled for November 19th. I received the list of things they need me to bring and I was curious about the one that says "prove of eligibility for fiancé visa". Do they want to see my K1 Visa or should I bring the whole I-129 package and I-785 package?

Also, my husband switched jobs in May so do I need to bring a new Affidavit of Support? I am still very confused on what to bring so if anyone has a list/info that could assist me I would be very thankful!

Thank you so much!

@GPack! From the timeline that I see in your posts, sounds like our processes are moving pretty close, which makes sense since we are both in Milwaukee. I filed on 02/24, had my first bio cancelled for 4/01, and then had my bio on 10/19. Only difference is that I have not received a second biometrics for I-131. Let me know if you hear anything on your EAD, because that might be a good indication for me as well!

Thank you!! I got too a fingerprints taken update before that, but that’s it, nothing else not even an approval notification. The only other update was about the interview ready to be scheduled for the I-485. Best of luck with your EAD :)
