My ead card just arrived today! Thank God!
Need to wait a week or so for ssn card.

Please update us when you receive SSN card!

i applied for mine, and have had my card for 2 weeks and EAD approved since 08/21 but never received SSN. Looks like they didn’t apply one for me even if i checked yes on the forms.

i had to call my local SSA office to ask for an appointment, they are still closed to the public and only take appointments.

Can you not apply for one online? I called them for my name change on my SS card and they said just mail the name change application. Mine got rejected because I didn’t have valid I94 at that time or EAD/ green card but I’ll send it in again once I receive my card.

No, for first time applications, you have to go in person or risk sending original documents via mail ( which they personally don’t recommend. )

Name change etc. can be done online though, as per the information on their website. I hope they get back to me Next week so i could finally attain an SSN

Would you please share the link where it says that you can change your name online? Last week that was not possible.

My office told me to print the name change form, just send our marriage certificate and proof of residence. Can you not call and ask if you can send a copy of your combo card/ green card? Our office will take it but I'm in Kansas.

Hey y'all, I have my interview upcoming Thursday and wanted to show what I prepared for my interview.

Maybe anyone has tips or finds the way I organised everything useful for them!

I got this organizer from amazon and find it very useful!;

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B072J873DF/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_image_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I made a cover letter with the order of documents in this organizer. Basically I added the following documents to the organizer;

- Interview invitation

- AOS NOA's

- I129 package, NOAS and Intent to Deny

- AOS package

- Affidavit of support with RFE and extra recent paystubs

- Shared bank account and bills together

- Birth certificate of me and my husband

- Copy of his passport + original passport

- Extra documents

- 2 Facebook posts and wedding pictures, I added wedding pictures in ziplock bag because I want to use them again in the house

The red organizer is from when I went to my K1 interview and has all our past pictures, chats, flight plans and everything. I added new pictures to it since they didn't look at it during my K1 interview and I didn't want to throw away all of my hard work 🤣

Thanks so much! I’ll make a copy of the bills and such. The rest are already copies thankfully 😁

Do they keep a copy of the things you bring to the interview? like the AOS application and k1 application? or just new things with joint names on them such as bills and letters etc..?
