I would also suggest evidence of your current bills (rent/mortgage), car, etc.

Have you already done biometrics?

Good idea, thanks!

No, I have not. So I expected the request to be denied right away, which is why this is surprising and exciting haha

What did you stated as reason for the expedite? Nothing of what you listed seems to be helpful to be honest. The best thing to have if you claimed financial loss would be a job offer letter

I stated severe financial loss to a person.

That's a bummer. I hope the agent assigned to my case will be on the more lenient & understanding side. No income for 6 months should be enough reason for "severe financial loss". Obviously I'll still try and update y'all on what happens

This is what it says on the website:

  • Severe financial loss to a company or person, provided that the need for urgent action is not the result of the petitioner’s or applicant’s failure to:
    1. File the benefit request or the expedite request in a reasonable time frame, or
    2. Respond to any requests for additional evidence in a reasonably timely manner;
  • Urgent humanitarian reasons;
  • Compelling U.S. government interests (such as urgent cases for the Department of Defense or DHS, or other public safety or national security interests); or
  • Clear USCIS error.

So severe financial loss seems to be a reason. If it’s approved though, from what I’ve seen with this group is if you don’t have biometrics they don’t produce the card. However, maybe once you have biometrics if your case is already approved maybe you’ll get the card even faster.

Of course and I would go with the bank statements and bills but wouldn't be to optimistic.

Also on what grounds are you adjusting? If it's family based then your USC sponsor signed for taking care of you. Showing now that this is not working could be a problem.

Hey again!

I am excited to report that my EAD expedite request from Friday just came back asking for additional information. This is obviously not a win yet, but I am very excited to see something moving in my case!

I wanted to ask if you have any advice what to send as supporting documents, for the best possible chances to get it expedited? As of right now I have:

* Bank statements from the last three months, showing my main account going down significantly (like very, very low. You don't even wanna know...) In my opinion that should be enough, but okay.

* My old EAD that expired 7/31/20 and that was conditional, connected to the theatre industry, which has been completely shut down since mid-March

* A furlough notice from my previous job (originally mid-March, then again end of March, and a last notice dated June 2nd, that states the Theatre won't reopen until January 2021

I just got a job interview as well. They are currently not hiring (in the industry) but want to interview me for as soon as hiring resumes. Could that help? Like that I need to be able to start at any moment, potentially?

If you have any other ideas or thoughts, let me know. Thank you!!

So you tried to expedite without a job offer and no biometrics and you reached this state, right?

Yes it is a reason but it refers more to unforeseen circumstances which produced unforeseen bills. We all knew that we won't be able to work for quite some time so showing the electricity bill for example is not really a thing.

Hopefully it will even just get me an appointment finally!! That would already make me happy honestly

It's FB, and that's a good point. My husband also lost his jobs, but didn't get an official furlough letter, since he mainly worked as a freelancer. So hopefully that won't be a problem, but I didn't even think of that

Exactly. I just made the request with a Tier 1 officer, explaining that I need to get back to work because it's starting to get really challenging to keep up with bills etc, with both of us being furloughed/having lost our jobs.

That's fair, but I think the fact that we cannot work at all, like no even a PT retail job, for 6+ months due to a global pandemic is still an unforeseen circumstance. Especially because we filed before the US was hit.

only thing you can do is HOPE that the country votes with some sense in November. we are living in dangerous times with lots dictators

He said 12 more years during day 1 of RNC. If that’s not a fascist way of thinking, idk what is.

Even with our work permits, it’s still going to be hard looking for jobs in this economy. Immigrants can’t catch a break.

And at this point, I really don’t want to be moving because my guess is that it’ll just slow my 485 down even more.

You are missing the key ingredient job offer letter.  Brutally Honestly none of this will be sufficient

I sent them our bank statements from the month before I got here up to the most recent one and my husband’s paystubs to show that he has reduced hours. My expedite request was  denied. Hopefully you’ll get approved. There’s no harm in trying 😊

 i dont know where you live but if i were you in a big city  i would to every store that hiring and ask for an interview. you dont have to disclose that you dont have EAD . negotiate with the start date and hope USCIS gets you EAD by that time.

with out a job offer letter i think your odds are very low
