Guys, another small update from me :)

my biometrics was on the 11th in Atlanta. The notice was only for AOS and EAD so I was concerned that I would have to go another time for AP at some point in the future. I know there are others here in the same situation, so I wanted to share my update to give you some good news:

two days ago my status said "ready to schedule interview" for AOS, "card being produced for EAD, "case received" for AP

but yesterday evening there was an update, EAD and AP both now say "approved", so apparently no second biometrics appointment necessary after all. I'll keep you posted on how long it will take until I actually get the combo card, under the current circumstances I'm not holding my breath.

I do realize how lucky I was to get the biometrics appointment and now the approval when so many here still haven't had any news whatsoever! I'm really hoping you guys will hear something soon, and that the furlough won't happen!

So reassuring!!! I had my bio appointment a few days after yours, so hoping I see some more movement soon. Mine currently say ready to schedule (AOS), fingerprints were taken (EAD) and case received (AP). Hoping I don't have to go in for another appointment for AP!!!

I would honestly pay thousands of dollars for my husband to have EAD. If they introduced premium processing for green card I would pay $10-$20K. They could solve their budget crisis overnight if they expanded the premium processing program.

That would be crazy, they might as well would charge a flat 10k fee guaranteed  approval. I would not be willing to outright pay 10-20k without guaranteeing approval. Sometimes  I think even USCIS is confused and they don't even know what they are doing!

USCIS is like a box of chocolates, you never know what kind of answer you are going to get!!!!

10k is an insane amount. It's more expensive than the whole process. Let's keep it at 1k-2k max. You guys gotta be rich.

No way, I was  just  stating I would not pay that unless guaranteed approval. I'm far from rich. I can't  rub two nickels together lol.

I was also like damn 10-20k. Wish I had that type of money to flat out spend 😂 if you have that money you’d probably don’t need an EAD so desperately in my eyes 😂😂

Haha I see what you’re saying. But I said for the green card, not the EAD. Colleges can cost 300K plus for 4 years, is $10-$20K for guaranteed permanent residence really that crazy? My husband is from a country that has a visa ban. I’m terrified of being separated... It’s worth that much to me, but I understand it’s a lot.

I mean it's still a lot but we do what we can for the ones that we love.

I totally agree with you! I would pay that price. Because, what's happening in the immigration system right now is a chaos. And it's getting worse and worse. Covid 19, USCIS money problems, chaos with biometrics appointments, EAD "printing" problems, extra forms which they add, and withdraw, and then add again, and so on, and so forth.

My parents and all my family live abroad, and I would pay 10-20 000$ (I'm not rich at all) just to be able to hug my father in September, or October. Because, according to what's happening right now I don't know when I will be able to do it. Like zero clue.

Try calling Legal Aid's helpline - it's free and they support with housing issues - https://baylegal.org/get-help/

Yes, got hold of one of the non-profits after multiple attempts. They were very helpful. I have an appointment with attorney on Monday. They will decide then if they would represent us in court

I honestly feel like everyone gets their green card before their EAD and that’s crazy because sometimes a green card can take years ☹️😤

edit: never mind I wasn’t allowed inside as the petitioner

edit edit: they did ask for our marriage certificate which we did Not bring hope that’s ok
