Well, well, well. Apparently (as said before) USCIS has the money to go through this fiscal year and now there's a bipartisan paper asking them to postpone, again, the furlough. (If they have the money, the furlough isn't necessary). Hopefully it'll happen!

I thought of that too when they sent me my biometrics appointment via email. Why not go digital? They’ll be able to help save the environment too not wasting paper.

But then, I guess here is the answer and I’ve shared this before:

come on man. USCIS is stuck in the 1950's. thats too much work and it wont waste money and resources :)

Guys, as you may know my interview is planned. I received a USPS informed delivery mail on Monday saying my appointment notice would arrive. For some reason it didn't arrive but USPS said it can take up to one week to be delivered after being scanned. Today I got another informed delivery mail and nothing again. I called them as it looked like they couldn't deliver it according to the USPS. This lady said its sent back to the USCIS because according to the USPS my address is NOT CORRECT. Can you believe this, I said, all the other mail is delivered from them so what's the deal now, she said yeah you have to check with the USCIS if your address is correct. I said it is correct, all the scans from Monday had the same address and the rest is delivered, you want to tell me they delivered my mail and saw one envelope and were like, well im just not going to deliver this. She said, yeah I don't know what the case is. LOL. Now my appointment notice is sent back to the USCIS and I can call them again om Monday morning to talk to a tier2.

I just wanted to vent because imagine your case not updating and they not delivering mail. How will you ever find out..🤨
Gotta love the mail delivery in this country atm.

ouch that is beyond frustration.

I really hope this request pushes through but I also can’t imagine how the impacted USCIS employees are feeling right now. If I were in their shoes, I would feel disheartened by putting me through the wringer more than once. The collective morale must be so low among a lot of them. 😭😭😭

That link is interesting as it raises the possibility of premium processing for EAD. I wonder if it'll be possible to upgrade existing applications to premium processing if it passes.

Guys, another small update from me :)

my biometrics was on the 11th in Atlanta. The notice was only for AOS and EAD so I was concerned that I would have to go another time for AP at some point in the future. I know there are others here in the same situation, so I wanted to share my update to give you some good news:

two days ago my status said "ready to schedule interview" for AOS, "card being produced for EAD, "case received" for AP

but yesterday evening there was an update, EAD and AP both now say "approved", so apparently no second biometrics appointment necessary after all. I'll keep you posted on how long it will take until I actually get the combo card, under the current circumstances I'm not holding my breath.

I do realize how lucky I was to get the biometrics appointment and now the approval when so many here still haven't had any news whatsoever! I'm really hoping you guys will hear something soon, and that the furlough won't happen!

Congratulations!!!!!

Congratulations! Not to sound like a broken record... But did they do all ten fingerprints or just index finger at your appointment?

This....

Interesting that the processing times for EAD at NBC went from 4-6 months to 28-36 months 2 days ago and now this. I can see them very quickly applying the premium processing to EAD. Easy money for them. I just hope that they don't make all of us option for the premium processing and just new applications. That surely wouldn't be legal.

I would honestly pay thousands of dollars for my husband to have EAD. If they introduced premium processing for green card I would pay $10-$20K. They could solve their budget crisis overnight if they expanded the premium processing program.
