Hi everyone,

I am going to be a March filer at this rate, but I just thought to ask- can anyone point me in the direction of a proven draft for a Letter of Support for my and my wife's family to add to the application? I'd be very grateful.

Thanks!

Finally received texts from USCIS and have our case number. Sent our package Feb.19 and they received it 20th. Now waiting for the NOA in the mail. I know after receiving the noa, biometrics appointment is next and I have no idea what to expect. Do I need to have biometrics too? My husband is the beneficiary and I am the sponsor/US citizen, am I also required to be in that appointment? What should we expect to do on that day?

Never heard of something like that. The sponsor has to fill a affidavit of support. It's a official form. USCIS doesn't rely on letters

Only the beneficiary has to do it. They'll take a picture of him, all his fingerprints and a digital signature. That's all. Won't take longer than five minutes

I think he means an affidavit letter, which is a sworn statement from friends/family of the couple who can testify that they do have a bona fide marriage. It can be used in the I-130 supporting documents (the bona fide marriage ones).

02/22/20 -- AOS package (I-130/I-485/I-864/I-765/I-131) sent to USCIS

02/25/20 -- Package delivered to Chicago Lockbox

03/17/20 -- Cheques cashed and text messages received

03/20/20 -- Received NOAs in the mail (I-130/I-486/I-765/I-131)

05/04/20 -- Received I-693 courtesy letter

10/11/20 -- Received biometrics notice (finally! Yay!)

10/21/20 -- Biometrics (I485/I765 Code 3, I-131 Code 2 in Hartford, CT)

10/23/20 -- Biometrics applied to all cases (I-485/I-765/I-131)

10/27/20 -- Case ready to be scheduled for an interview (location unknown 😅)

11/12/20 -- Second biometrics appointment (I-131, Code 2, in Pittsburgh, PA)

01/20/21 -- I-765 Expedite Request Submitted

01/29/21 -- I-765 Expedite Request Approved

02/01/21 -- I-765/I-131 Approved

02/16/21 -- Interview was Scheduled

02/17/21 -- Interview confirmed to be scheduled at the wrong FO, request to reschedule interview initiated

03/16/21 -- Interview cancelled, entered into scheduling queue for the correct FO

05/14/21 -- Interview rescheduled

06/25/21 -- Interview completed in Pittsburgh, approved on the spot 🙏❤️

Same situation with FORM I-485.

What to Know About Sending Us Your Form

The current edition of the Form I-485, dated 07/15/19 and 12/23/17:

  • We will accept the 07/15/19 and 12/23/17 edition of this form if it is postmarked before Feb. 24, 2020
  • We will not accept the 07/15/19 and 12/23/17 edition if it is postmarked on or after Feb. 24, 2020, except those submitted by aliens/petitions with a physical address in Illinois [see information for Illinois]
  • DHS remains enjoined by a federal court from implementing the Inadmissibility on Public Charge Grounds Final Rule in Illinois. DHS has asked for a stay of this injunction from the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit, given the Supreme Court Decision to stay the last nationwide injunctions. For additional information, see our webpage on the status of the public charge rule in Illinois.

The updated edition of the form

On or after Feb. 24, 2020, we will accept only the edition date: 10/15/19 of the Form I-485, except those submitted by petitioners/aliens with a physical address in Illinois [see information for Illinois].

We squeaked by on this form.  We sent our package to Chicago via Fed Ex on 2/21 and it arrived on Monday 2/23.  Now the lonely wait for the NOA . . .
