Nope, I haven't called them! Just going to wait for a bit considering I haven't reached the "Approved" stage yet. Given everyone's experiences with calling, I don't want to do it hahaha. But if it takes some time, I will call. Doesn't it generally take some time to reach the approved stage? (Not including the cases in which you can be approved without biometrics).

I’m not sure how they do it... I just think it’s ridiculous that it has been almost six months and they still haven’t approved us yet. Haha! I requested for it to be expedited but they denied it. I wanted to call earlier too but I assume I’ll just get a generic bs response. I’m thinking of reaching out to our congressman to see if that would help... but I just want to be approved. Why is that so hard? 😅

What is your situation right now? Have you done Biometrics already? I've done mine on August 13.

I assume EAD i765 will be produced shortly now.. I'm expecting to have it on the next 2 or 3 months.

I had my biometrics appointment on August 12. The normal processing times for EAD is 4 to 6 months. I’m only a few days away until it has been 6 months since they received it. When did you send yours?

I had my biometrics on August 11th and they haven't approved me yet for EAD as well. It is so frustrating. My receipt notice is March 25th.. How long should I keep waiting in silence? :(

I’m sick of complaining but I cannot stop 😑 Hopefully we’ll get approved for EAD soon!

Same here. No approval, no biometrics, no nothing. I'll probably also put in a service request on Monday for both EAD & AP. Are you guys gonna do file the SR online or do you think you'll call?

It is so exhausting to keep complaining and I feel like I need to give myself a break from the constant frustration and bad mood. But like I physically can't. It's just always on my mind.

You are not complaining. You are sharing and venting. We have no biometrics. No appointments. No approvals. Nothing. We have nice but powerless agents reading scripts the best they can. We have no job and no ability to travel. Keep sharing. It’s what we all are here for!

I’m not even sure if I will since I saw people’s post on here that there are no updates at all. It’s just so weird that they looked into my expedite request but didn’t take into consideration that it’s almost past the normal processing times. And the generic status update is “You did not provide evidence of an extreme emergent need”. Yeah, right, like being stuck at home all this time while the USC is working his/her @** off just to be able to provide isn’t a reason enough 😅

Thank you! That really means a lot. I’m really hoping you’ll get an update soon. Not knowing when the next step is going to happen is just frustrating, especially with the furlough that’s about to happen.

Yes that's true 😕 but is it 4 to 6 months since you file your case or after the biometrics? Because generally biometrics are done 1.5 month after filing your case.

Also the worst part now is this furlough that is about to happen. I don't know how much this will impact the EAD production.

So about the expedite process.

I have alot of job offers on LinkedIn, would that be enough for expedite? With a print screen of the recruiters talking with me?

I don’t think that will be accepted. It has to be an actual job offer — typically done via email.

I’m not sure if it will work... but I know someone who got her expedite request approved because it’s the employer who sent the USCIS the documents they asked for.

I second this. You need to have something official from the prospective employer not just a screenshot of a chat.

After a failed 1st delivery attempt and another 5 day delay from USPS my wife's EAD/AP card arrived in the mail yesterday—8/17. So about 21 days after the approval.

Great timing as she had a meeting today with her new employer who has been waiting patiently for her to be able to start working.

One more small step in this never ending journey. Good luck everyone.

Congrats. Fellow Swede here waiting for hers to come :)
