There are a few different opinions floating around here -- they're independent contractors, so it's my personal opinion that they wouldn't be immediately affected, but maybe in the future. It's been pointed out that they're contracted by USCIS, which makes me believe that USCIS would have to honour the terms of the contract until its end. Others here are less optimistic, and I don't blame them. This process sucks and nobody really knows what's going to happen (not even USCIS).

On a positive note, I did read an article today that said that there is increasing pressure on congress to postpone their recess to address the USPS funding and stimulus talks (which included the USCIS funding).

This is great news! @LilyKins I really hope that they’re not furloughed but if so I’m hoping the ASCs stay open to continue with fingerprints. Thanks for the insight.

Like I said, that's just speculation and my opinion -- I don't know anything more than the other folks around here do (and honestly, they probably know considerably more!).

We didn't get it yet. One of the USCIS emailed him the notice, but it is in the mail.

Should have received the USCIS mail today. I checked my mail I see all the other mails but not the USCIS' one 🤧

That is so frustrating!!! I'm so sorry. Tomorrow, maybe?

Yes, I am aware this is only speculation but still positive news. @LilyKinsI will continue to do some research myself. I also read that the senate will reconvene this week to pass the Usps bill. Hopefully, it includes funding in support of USCIS to prevent the furlough.

Finally received my biometrics appointment notice for next week.

It is for i-485 and i-765 code 3.

My original biometrics was mar 18.

Location: San Diego.

I have submitted e-request, sent my original appointment notice back with check on request for rescheduling 2 weeks ago, and I have asked for help from congressman.

I don't know which one helped me get the appointment.  Hope all Feb filers get their bio soon. It has been so unfair for Feb filers.

Can Tier 1 send me the pdf file?

No. It would be Tier 2. I’m also waiting for mine in the mail. I’ll call them Wednesday if I don’t receive the mailed-in appointment by tomorrow. Tier 2 who confirmed my appointment last week told me to ask for an email version of the appointment with the pdf if mail is not received after a week of being sent.

Wow, today was a day full of updates for me. Sadly none of them were good or helpful.

Service request dates 8/13 (this was my second one, this time via chat):

ASCs reschedule you automatically within 90 days. Blahblahblah

Senators office: same thing PLUS: for this case we expect to send an appointment within 30 days. Cool. Also still says it's at NBC for pre-processing, meaning the application has literally been halted since receipt in February.

No call from tier 3 agent yet.

So annoyed. I will definitely send in my original appointments via Express mail today!

Aw man! I guess I'll just wait tomorrow
