Why unexpected? Seems like it’s been about 2 weeks from fingerprints to card mailed. Are you surprised because it never went to being produced?

It was one week plus, I did FPs Aug 5

Of course I would like to see it going to "card being produced", but this is wishful thinking...

No it has been 1 week, I was not expecting it to happen until 3 weeks (hopefully before shutdown). Why did it happen so fast? I am confused honestly...

Unexpectedly at all, my family EAD cases (FPs taken on Aug 5, "Card Ordered" issued same day) changed today to "card mailed". Not sure it matters at all but this update was surprising

I was not expecting this to happen until end of August

Congratulations!

WELL, REALLY NOT SURE WHERE TO GO FROM HERE.

I don't think I will ever forgive myself for not walking into every single ASC office in the area in March.  Our March biometrics apt was three days after we got the biometrics appointment in the mail. And I got lazy and didn't walk us into one in those three days before our scheduled appointment.  It's only a couple days, what could change?  And then the first shutdown.  TWO DAYS before our appointment.  So no appointment.  And then February filers get screwed because our "reschedules" are done after the "new schedules" of May, June July filers.

And then every day talking to tier 2 or well-meaning tier 1 who reads from a script, or our Congressional office, or to the wall.

Pavlovian dogs; we sprint to the mailbox at the first sound of the postman.  For weeks.

And now, August 13.  Zero.  Zip.  Zilch.  And Congress recesses for August without and agreement, so USCIS furloughs start in two weeks.  Even if her biometrics appoointment comes in the mail next week, it will be for a date AFTER the ASC offices shut down again.

No job.  She can't see her only nephew who now is a year old.  No seeing her 76 year old dad.

Forlorn.  Dejected.  Pounded to the earth and trampled.  Done fighting.  Crushed and just over it.

You don't need to feel guilty; who knows everything will be stopped mid-March and the federal agency tried not to resume their service?

I even renewed my driver's license in late May!

I'm sure the DOS and USCIS are the only federal department and agencies that desperately defer resuming their services.

I totally understand how frustrated you two.

But, especially for this tough time, you guys have to, and try to make you and your wife happy. (and we all understand how hard it is.)

Everything will back to normal after the presidential election in the end; either he keeps his position or his opponent takes his position, who cares about after the elections.

And, this is just my minor hope, but your wife may be able to do biometric done if she can get her biometric appointment next week.

For me, I got the notice one week before the scheduled date.

No Update on my EAD yet.

We have the same timeline! I don’t expect mine to be ready to be scheduled for interview soon though, but I keep checking lol. Did your AP status update? Thanks! Hopefully you’ll get scheduled soon!

It’s so nice to see improvements and good news the past few days. Congrats to everyone. I hope for good news for the ones still awaiting for it.

I’m just curious who else got the “case is ready to be scheduled for interview” since April? Mine was updated on April 20. I know it will take some time to get an actual interview date but just wondering.

My wife got approved for her expedited I-131on august 10th and we have a flgiht scheduled for September 2nd. Do I have to get her biometrics done before we fly or can I get those done when we come back in September. Also am I supposed to receive an email saying the have mailed the documents? Im really worried that we wont be able to make the flight in time given its on less than 3 weeks. We are traveling for a medical emergency as shes needing surgery.

We aren't applying for a K1. We are already married and we are filing for adjustment of status. Do you know when I'm supposed to receive the documents once they were approved. I feel like im pulling teeth with the USCIS anytime I call. They transfer me to a Tier 2 officer and then mid way through the phone call it disconnects and I dont get a call back after waiting a few hours for the call.

if they dont have your finger prints than yeah they are not going to release the card without prints. The norm seems to be for all FB based applicants you need biometrics done

duh
