Wow. Yours is indeed a special case. You mentioned that you filed FB? Is it marriage based or other FB? And then your EAD/AP haven’t been approved and you’ve never had your biometrics taken but you got the notif of card being produced? Did it ever go into approved state before it said mailed?

Since you’re on H1B, I’m assuming you have provided previous biometrics on your current non-immigrant visa? But you never got the notif that your biometrics are being re-used?

Lol, apologies for the barrage of questions.

Yes EB based applicants are being approved without biometrics for EAD/AP

duh

so i learnt something from a little bird

May/June was a priority for I-539 applicants.

June/July was a priority for I-751/I-829 application ( ROC applicants)

August/September is a priority for I-765/I-131/I-485 applicants

Perhaps that is what reps are calling phase 1,2,3 at USCIS.

Is it for biometrics only?

I was seriously hoping I’ll get my AP from 8/3 until 8/11. I told them we drove four hours just to get there, that’s why they decided to check if I recently got scheduled for AP. My husband had to take two days off just so we can go the day before, and he’s the only one allowed to work! So this is just really frustrating and confusing lol

But for SOME people, I read that they just applied their biometrics for AOS/EAD to their AP. So idek.

i had my biometric appointment on 8/11 for i485 and i 765. My status has been updated only for i485 and i 765. But, i131 is same as "case received". This is crazy

Thanks! Have you tried calling USCIS about it or not yet? I just don’t want to drive 4 hours to do it. My fingerprints, face, and signature won’t change lol 🤣

Hi, your case suddenly moved so fast!!! congrats! May I ask what reason did you use for i-485 expedite? financial loss? urgent humanitarian reason?

I stated financial loss. There was no new biometric notice eventhough ASC was open since 7/13. My EAD was approved 7/22 but with no biometrics, I was afraid I will be in this black hole with approved EAD and no card. . My work visa expires on October 1 and my husbands colleagues were furloughed and we are afraid he would be next. Our family would face financial hardship if I will lose my job. Thus, in panic mode I asked for I-485 expedite.  I have to still respond to them with justification. Coincidentally when my local office emailed me why I need I-485 expedite,  my EAD card went to production.  I was really “squeaky wheel” and contacted USCIS everyday, requested information from our congressman, contacted Subramanya case lawyers etc. I assume this contributed to EAD card production.

Thats good to hear ! Maybe because the recent class case ? The judge ask USCIS to print all the approved EAD/Green card in 7 days

Maybe, I assume that would be a strong argument. One of the plaintiffs in that case have/had to live in homeless shelter (his EAD was approved but no card so he lost his job, it was EB application).

Lol, apologies for the barrage of questions.

It is marriage based to USC. My EAD/AP got approved on 7/22 with no biometrics. When I called USCIS they said that the card cannot be printed w/o them. I was also informed that my biometrics were not pulled from anywhere. We’ll see when the card comes.

I have provided biometrics all my life I think, at consulates for F-1 and H-1B visa stamping, UK visa at DHS office in NY, in airports at POE etc. Tier 2 agents were telling me this does not matter as these were not collected for EAD purpose so they cannot re-use it.

Hope my experience helps someone.

Ok guys, it is something out of sci-fi...I just received another EAD case update: we have mailed your new card.😱

Congratulations!! And to pile on the good news, my case was also updated - EAD has been mailed today 🥳

I was in a very similar situation with my visa expiring in October - I’m pleasantly surprised with the progress so far.

I know some folks are still stuck in limbo, so I’m trying to send good vibes to all of you! Good luck!!

I write this with tears in my eyes. My husbands opt expired in early July. It’s been over a month that he can’t work. Our receipt date was Feb 24 but still no biometrics appointment! I’m feeling so helpless and desperate. Is there anything we can do?

They started approving 2/24 yesterday

i am still waiting also

it sucks. Hang in there
