I am!!! We just sent out AOS on Thursday was delivered to Chicago on saturday ;) ..... are you in Dallas?

Fort  Worth, but the local  office is in Irving. Be prepared for a longer than usual wait. Is your local office  Dallas? If so put that in your time line so other Dallas folks might care to follow your time line.

@Distantlove718 and @osally1, got this issue as well but rectified now.

Steps I took:

- called ssa 800 # but got nothing from there.

- checked save website and got info that DHS returned my application to SSA Maryland already.

- called local SSA office (Jax Florida) and they processed my application. SSA Maryland returned it approved and Jax office issued a receipt. Card to be sent within 2 weeks.

- went to local SSA office and got my number. Wife sweet-talked the clerk to give it to us verbally. 😉 but still waiting for the card.

Once I got my SSN, went to DMV and got my driver's license which is valid for a year. Canadian eh! 😉

What is the save website?

Hi Guys!

So, so happy to have found this thread -- as someone else mentioned, it's nice to have a small community of people experiencing the same thing. We mailed our AOS package (130/485/864 petitioner/864&864A joint sponsor/765/131) on Saturday. I was a little late to the game in realizing these new public charge changes, but managed to put our entire application together in just under 48hours, including an 8 hour drive to my husband's parent's home (two states away), and a literal photo finish where, as I was frantically making photocopies of this 400page application at Staples on Saturday morning, I realized one of my passport photos had gotten damaged by ink and would no longer be acceptable.

We made a mad dash from Staples to the USPS office, which closed at 1pm. To our dismay, there was a large sign on the door that stated they stop taking passport photos as 12pm, and it was now 12:34pm. I begged a clerk to take my photo (as we were the only ones there), explaining the circumstances. She was not budging. It just so happened that the lead clerk came out and overheard -- turns out she had immigrated from Puerto Rico a while back, and empathized with us. She took another set of photos for me, I popped them into their respective baggie, and the entire application made it by 12:55pm.

I still cannot believe we pulled that off! Now, of course, I'm neurotically refreshing the USPS tracking page and hoping it arrives there on time. With my OPT application, which had to be submitted twice, we had problems due to USPS each time! Very frustrating.

I wish everyone here the absolute best of luck, and hope we can find comfort in one another. This is such a trying time that is only truly understood by people who have also weathered this process. I can say that it has brought myself and hubby closer together, but it will be nice once we can move on from this and live "normal" lives again.

The way I understood it the date of the post stamp is key, not the arrival date. So if they stamped it right then and there when you handed it over you should be good I would hope :) great that you made it with only minutes to spare, I can't imagine how stressful that must have been!

I sumbitted everything to USPS On Saturday 02/22/20 at 4:07pm, as the post office guy let me in right before shutting the door at 4:00 pm. Certified Priority Mail should get there tonight. My only problem is that I only included two passport photos each for me and my wife, and since I didn't have extra copies I printed 4 more on glossy paper on 2x2 size, cut them and put them in the respective folders. This because I realized last minute I needed more photos, but had no time left as the office was about to close. I know though I included everything else. What do you guys think? Are they going to ask about more passport style photos? How likely are RFEs with AOS applications?

Hello everyone! Hope someone can help me!

I submited m application in December and had my bio app in January.

I received and RFE early February and they said my joint sponsor doesn’t make enough (it was due to missing documents not bc he actually doesnmt make enough)

So we met with an immigration lawyer and he said to re-submit the form i-864 for the joint sponsor and sent every single document he has (as he is retired) and also do the same for my sponsor my husband as he did make enought for ghe year 2019.. Now do i need to use the new edition od I-864? or no as my green card is pending.

Likely not, USCIS says "USCIS will apply the Final Rule to all applications for adjustment of status, and applications and petitions for extension of nonimmigrant stay or change of nonimmigrant status postmarked (or, if applicable, submitted electronically) on or after that date [Feb. 24, 2020]." And you've already submitted your application, you're just sending evidence to an RFE.

So bc we have to use the most recent tax year it will be 2019 we have to re do the I-864 bc the income is different for both my spouse and joint sponsor.. So you think i can use the old version of the form for that?

They say here (link) that you will have to use the new form unfortunately. So I went to the website (link) and it only shows the new form i-864. So my educated guess is that you will have to use the new form :(

You NEED to submit 2picture of yourself for I-485 and 2 sepetate for the employment application.

The reason is they want 2 for many reasons but mainly the use one to attach to your application and the other one for your green card at the end. (same as passport, when you go to renew it or make one they always want 2!)

They will ask for more for sure as they need it!
