We have two envelopes coming in the mail from USCIS today, but before we get excited one for sure is the EAD/AP acceptance because part of the text is visible and thats what it says, the one on nice paper. But the second is a mystery to me. It seems like it says 1 of 1, which cant be biometrics because now they have an additional worksheet you need to fill out. So might be a bummer. I kow @TandClaudia had similar pieces in mail come in recently. Can you shed any light on what the second envelope might be. Both are dates 7/31/2020, but our approval updated online 8/3/2020.

Down side is my mail doesnt come until around 4ish.

It would be the separate AP approval letter. The other one is just the EAD approval with the note that you will receive a combo card since AP was also approved.

Hey guys -- I'm not sure if every physician is different or what, but for those of you who have already completed the medical.. my local civil surgeon was a pain to get ahold of, so figured I'd ask here first!

I called to get an estimate for the cost of the I-693 exam, and it was close to $400 but included the lab work for the TB testing and "any required immunizations". The cost for the exam itself was around $200. Did any of you have the TB test bloodwork and immunization boosters completed prior to getting the medical, meaning you didn't use the civil surgeon for the testing and just brought them the results? My insurance will cover all of these costs if my PCP orders them, but not if they're done through the civil surgeon. Would be nice to save a few hundred dollars in lab fees if its not necessary!

02/22/20 -- AOS package (I-130/I-485/I-864/I-765/I-131) sent to USCIS

02/25/20 -- Package delivered to Chicago Lockbox

03/17/20 -- Cheques cashed and text messages received

03/20/20 -- Received NOAs in the mail (I-130/I-486/I-765/I-131)

05/04/20 -- Received I-693 courtesy letter

10/11/20 -- Received biometrics notice (finally! Yay!)

10/21/20 -- Biometrics (I485/I765 Code 3, I-131 Code 2 in Hartford, CT)

10/23/20 -- Biometrics applied to all cases (I-485/I-765/I-131)

10/27/20 -- Case ready to be scheduled for an interview (location unknown 😅)

11/12/20 -- Second biometrics appointment (I-131, Code 2, in Pittsburgh, PA)

01/20/21 -- I-765 Expedite Request Submitted

01/29/21 -- I-765 Expedite Request Approved

02/01/21 -- I-765/I-131 Approved

02/16/21 -- Interview was Scheduled

02/17/21 -- Interview confirmed to be scheduled at the wrong FO, request to reschedule interview initiated

03/16/21 -- Interview cancelled, entered into scheduling queue for the correct FO

05/14/21 -- Interview rescheduled

06/25/21 -- Interview completed in Pittsburgh, approved on the spot 🙏❤️

I don’t know about TB part but I checked what immunizations are required and what I had. I was missing only flu shot. So I we t to nearest pharmacy, got my flu shot and ask for its proof. I brought that proof and record of all other immunizations from my doc to civil surgeon. He just did the blood draw. So I did not need any extra immunizations from that office.

Here’s my story with the TB. I did my medical at first in November (for free since I was a student at my University). I did not though submit my AOS before the expiration of the I-693. So in January I did another one (this time I had to pay for everything) and I had the TB results from last time right? The nurse asked me if I wanted to do the TB again I said no. The doctor then was wondering about that part and he recommended I absolutely do it again because USCIS requires that on the application. The doctor called another doctor to confirm and they agreed I should get it done now rather than using the old results from the last I-693. He said if he was doing this for his wife he would have her do it just to be sure. He also said he doesn’t know who’s behind the desk at USISC, as if it was a doctor he/she would allow the older TB test, but if he/she was a regular employee they would only follow regulations and reject the I-693. In other words it did cost me an extra $150 I believe, but it was worth it for the peace of mind.

I'm definitely going to wait to have the testing done closer to my medical, but I just had a worrying experience with a nurse at the civil surgeon's office (I decided to call to be sure). While going through each test, she insisted that the urine test (for gonorrhoea) was the Quantiferon Gold test and the TB test was just called a "TB test", which is 100% not true. Rather than getting myself banned from going to this particular clinic (😅) as they're the cheapest, I let it go.. but it's frightening that a person who is this confused is advising people. I'm so tired of getting poor and misinformation at every turn in this process.

This afternoon we are going to drive down to the ASC and bring

1) Our original appointment notice for 3/18

2) Approval notice for 765 dated 7/16,

3) Decision from Subramanya stating that "ordered USCIS to produce cards within 7 days for putative class members.", of which we are one.

I am going to politely ask the guard to enter as the court has ordered cards to be produced and 7 days have elapsed. We will of course also explain that my wife has been out of work 1.5 months due to them not rescheduling her even though she was cancelled on the first day. We will be as empathetic as possible, but also firm. If we are denied, we will ask for the guards supervisor. If s/he refuses we will write down their name and information and tell them they will be named in a future Writ and may be deposed .

Good luck! Let us know if you were successful. I tried on ASC re-opening and it was a no go.
