No such thing as a conditional SS card. It's  just a SS card, but I do understand what you meant. You are talking about the statement typed on the SS card about not valid for work without DHS approval right? That statement does not make the SS card conditional. That number is issued for life!

Right. Thanks for that clarification.

I assume that after the GC is issued my wife can get one without the "for work only" statement printed on it?

From all of you 3, do you think it's because no biometrics before? Or just delaying? I'm just speculating here because what else to do at these times right?

Yes, no previous Bio + RFE and it also  Looks like @Basil123 and @Jish&Abt and i also have the same PD 2/24.

Jup, no prior biometrics for me. I assume that's why mine has not been approved yet.

However, that doesn't seem to be a consistent requirement for approval. I feel like I read a lot of posts of people getting their EAD/AP approved without ever giving biometrics. So who knows... (probably not even USCIS)

No worries, it will go to "Case was approved" right after that :) it's a common pattern these days.

You were spot on! My case just changed to “Case was approved”. Does this mean my EAD will be mailed soon? I’m guessing next change should be document mailed.

PD 2/24

biometrics applied on 4/8

still nothing

I have seen people with later PD get approved. It’s a whole mess.

Guys you can get EAD/AP approved without biometrics, there are thousands of people in this situation. You will not get the card though without biometrics (there very few exceptions, mostly non-NBC applicants). That is my situation too.

The role of RFE is questionable. From what I see, medical RFEs tend to trigger EAD/AP approvals but I would not state that as a rule

Hopefully it will happen soon. Mine was mailed to me yesterday :) after the lawsuit against USCIS things will speed up a bit I guess

My PD is 2/25 but it was sent in the 21 that's why they didn't ask for i-864 (public charge)

Is anybody here that their EAD/AP hasn't been approved and they had an RFE? Or if there's anybody that hasn't had their EAD/AP approved yet?

We got an RFE for my i485 on June 15.

EAD/AP still on case received.

We filed on Feb 22nd ;(

I just got some test messages and emails few minutes ago that my EAD and I-131 is approved without biometric, which I was just waiting for biometric appointment since the first appointment was canceled because of COVID-19.

Our biometrics was scheduled for April 3rd, still waiting for the new biometrics date. 😕 I am trying to stay positive and hoping for the best, hopefully we all will get some update this week or next week 🤞

interesting things happening... I posted earlier today that I did biometrics in the morning for AOS+EAD, and then got "new card ordered" update for EAD within 45 minutes of biometrics completion. Then same update for my wife followed in 30 minutes.

Then in the evening, I got massive update for all my AOS and EAD cases (myself, wife, daughter) for "fingerprints applied to your case". While this mass update was definitely automatic, potentially after FBI submitted fingerprint check reports (my friend got this update in the middle of the night EST), the earlier updates feel like they were human-initiated. To me it means that it makes sense to give them a push if you have new biometrics, previously approved EAD, and your status doesn't update from those automatic "fingerprints applied"
