Yes those numbers are just a wall they can hide behind. But with my experience with Canadian immigration 15 years ago, it wasn't very transparent either - you just wait and wait and then... you wait more

anything that takes more 12 months to process should be a criminal charge

duh

They already opened a service request for us abased on my wife now being out of work. Not sure what good it''s going to do -- it's just sitting in the case as

..., your Fingerprints/Biometrics, referral number XXXX, is currently not assigned for processing.

So I finally got through to a tier 2 rep who put in a service request for me. I also don't really know what that means, but it feels so good to get through brick wall that is USCIS. That'll put me to rest for today haha. And maybe it will even help me get my appointment soon 🤷‍♀️  (please...)

I'll keep you updated if I hear back from the service center. Fingers crossed!

My EAD is finally moving forward. My EAD/AP status changed from "finger print was taken" to "New Card was ordered" on July 24, and then on July 28, the status was further changed to "Case was Approved". Hopefully I will receive the EAD card in mail by late August.

Sharing the luck with you all. Hang in there!

That is an interesting case - you had your biometrics before shutdown! This means that your delay was related to the card printing mess and not biometrics. It appears we are experiencing 2 delay factors with EADs - lack of biometrics and printing mess. I used to believe that lack of biometrics is the only factor

Yes.

Card being produced > case approved > card mailed

I talked to the tier 1 officer today regarding the biometric appointment, and I heard surprising news I've never imagined.

The surprising, and also the frustrating news is that the biometric appointment was scheduled yesterday (July 28th), which I desperately waiting for.

(I signed up for the USPS informed delivery, so there's no chance for me to miss such important mails.)

I asked her (the tier 1 officer) to escalate the tier 2 officer, but she told there's nothing they can do until they schedule a biometric appointment again.

I know, I have to wait, but, some of us suffering from the biometric limbo may need to call/chat to thick your biometric appointment status...

have you gotten your notice in mail yet?

Can I ask if your case status online says anything about biometrics being rescheduled?
