I just did what you just did. I called very early at 8am and asked to speak to a Tier 2 officer.  They called me an hour later. I explained the situation and how I am going to lose my job by August 24th without the EAD card.

The officer only submitted a service request for me so the office handling my case can expedite the rescheduling. He put all the reasons as to why this was a dire situation. He also mentioned that he can see that I am due to be rescheduled but that has not been done yet.

I kindly told the officer if there is anything that he can do from his end to maybe do the rescheduling instead of waiting for NBC to finally do it (since he mentioned that SR takes about 15 days to resolve) and he said that he tried but system won’t let him do it.

So I guess that’s how my luck went down.

🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️

I am so sorry to hear that it didn't work out for you. :( Hopefully the service request can push them to reschedule you sooner

Can I ask what your service center is? Is it also NBC?

I did this morning what you did at 8am eastern (5am where I am). We finally got a tier 2 officer to call us back about an hour later, and pleaded with them to please schedule biometrics. The tier 2 was STILL confused why I needed them since the 765 was approved, but finally understood. We told him that my wife's job is essential and she is at risk of termination. He opened a service request and we will hear back in 15 days. Similar to you, he didn't see any way to schedule the appointment himself. I think @amyS is the only one I've seen that has been able to get an agent to schedule an appointment then and there.

so sorry to hear it is working for you . :(    I hope you can get the reschedule notice soon !

If they were able to reschedule you and not me and @fromsweden, and all of our cases are at NBC, what gives? The tier 2 officers that we separately spoke to this morning told us they couldn’t do the rescheduling from their end so what would be the exception such that they were able to for a few cases but not all? All three of us are marriage-based too, if I’m not mistaken. 😭😭😭

Apologies. I’m not in any way trying to blame you. Just trying to find a logical explanation behind all of these inconsistencies with their whack process.

No worries ! I totally understand the frustration.  I think it really depends on the Tire 2 people and how they feel at that day,  the one I got introduced himself as an Immigration officer XX,  is the Tire 2 person you spoke to also address him/herself as immigration officer ?

Yes, I believe so. I might have to call tomorrow and have a go at it again.

good luck !!!  Hopefully you will get a super nice and helpful officer tomorrow !!

Honestly it felt like he was doing us a HUUUGE personal favor just filing the service request. It's possible his system is not able to schedule biometrics, but weird that your guy was. Let us know how it goes tomorrow @mat2291

only thing we can do is keep calling every day until they get pissed off and give an appointment. i called again today and they said mine is waiting to be scheduled. Whatever that means. Iam going to keep calling them twice a day until i get it.  some of the representatives are really nasty and they just want to get rid of you. good luck everyone.

I got a notification yesterday that my card was mailed to me. The waiting game... continues 🤣. I put yes on SSA issuing me my SSN on the I-765 form, should I be expecting it a few days after my EAD arrives or it takes a longer than that nowadays?

Hard to say. Some people report getting it before the EAD, but others like my husband are still waiting. His EAD arrived last friday. @sherif-fouad got his ssn 2 weeks after his EAD. Who really knows, I guess 🤷‍♀️

Finally got a response from my congressman

They said the ASC can't do anything, the appointment is made by the service center. Like oook--- so send a message to the service center! They said oh there's lots of people waiting so just wait 3-4 weeks for the notice. HELLO we've already been waiting 5+ months!

Government is freaking useless.
