Update

My EAD pd is Feb 20. I had no case status updates so I called today to expedite with a job offer and it got approved within 2 hours.

I guess I am added to the long line of people waiting for a card, I also did not get my biometrics taken before the shutdown so thats not in my favour...

hi ! I called very early in the morning 8 am and I got a tire 1 representative first and I told her the situation and she asked me to wait till August 13th , I asked to talk to a tire 2 officer, 4 hours later tire 2 officer called back, I mentioned I have a pending job offer to both tire 1 and tire 2 officer. Hope this helps ! Good luck !

I just did what you just did. I called very early at 8am and asked to speak to a Tier 2 officer.  They called me an hour later. I explained the situation and how I am going to lose my job by August 24th without the EAD card.

The officer only submitted a service request for me so the office handling my case can expedite the rescheduling. He put all the reasons as to why this was a dire situation. He also mentioned that he can see that I am due to be rescheduled but that has not been done yet.

I kindly told the officer if there is anything that he can do from his end to maybe do the rescheduling instead of waiting for NBC to finally do it (since he mentioned that SR takes about 15 days to resolve) and he said that he tried but system won’t let him do it.

So I guess that’s how my luck went down.

I talked to the tier 1 officer today regarding the biometric appointment, and I heard surprising news I've never imagined.

The surprising, and also the frustrating news is that the biometric appointment was scheduled yesterday (July 28th), which I desperately waiting for.

(I signed up for the USPS informed delivery, so there's no chance for me to miss such important mails.)

I asked her (the tier 1 officer) to escalate the tier 2 officer, but she told there's nothing they can do until they schedule a biometric appointment again.

I know, I have to wait, but, some of us suffering from the biometric limbo may need to call/chat to thick your biometric appointment status...

Can I ask when your original appointment was and when your ASC re-opened?

My original appointment was March 31th, and the ASC near me opened on July 20th.

Also, they told you that you were already scheduled as of yesterday but what do you mean by when you said “there’s nothing they can do until they schedule a biometric appointment again?”

If you were already rescheduled as of yesterday, you should get that notice in 5-7 days and it’ll tell you when your new date and time is.

I did this morning what you did at 8am eastern (5am where I am). We finally got a tier 2 officer to call us back about an hour later, and pleaded with them to please schedule biometrics. The tier 2 was STILL confused why I needed them since the 765 was approved, but finally understood. We told him that my wife's job is essential and she is at risk of termination. He opened a service request and we will hear back in 15 days. Similar to you, he didn't see any way to schedule the appointment himself. I think @amyS is the only one I've seen that has been able to get an agent to schedule an appointment then and there.

This is consistent with my observations - ASC-specific, of course. Generally, if you know someone from the same ASC as yours, and that person already got re-scheduled, you need to do these steps:

- figure out that other person original biometrics date;

- figure out that other person re-scheduling date (not actual new appointment date)

- calculate the difference between that person and yours original appointment days

- multiply the difference by 2.5 and this add it to the other person re-scheduling date (not the new appointment date) - this is when you can expect your new appointment re-scheduling date

- add 7-8 or so calendar days to get your appointment invite in the mail

- new appointment will be within two weeks or so from your date of re-scheduling

Those are generic guidelines, there are many exceptions. Also pay attention for which case your original appointment was - in can be for AP, for example. Guidelines above apply for getting new invite for the same case type. If you were originally scheduled for AP biometrics but desperately need EAD biometrics, it will come 2-3 weeks later

I know it’s not the best result but I’m glad I’m not alone on this one. Let me know how yours goes. 😅

I am so sick of how the rescheduled biometric appointments are being handled.

My original appointment was 3/27, local ASC opened 7/20. And as so many others, I also know of April/May filers who already went to get their biometrics done

I tried to expedite my case with a tier 1 officer yesterday and just got the email that my case is on hold until I come in for biometrics. Big surprise. And I assume that's a denial of my request? I don't even know.

After reading everyone's experiences I'm debating if I should also ask for a tier 2 officer or if I should just continue to wait. I don't have a job offer on hand, but I haven't worked in months (I am on my last OPT days now and was only allowed to work in theater which has basically been canceled since March). Do you think calling again and talking to a tier 2 agent about scheduling a new biometrics appointment due to severe financial loss would be worth it? Or should I wait those referenced 30 days? I'm just so sick and tired of all this, while also being ridiculously emotionally and financially stressed out. Ugh.

Not sure this really makes sense because our original appointment date was March 18 (first day of closure) and there are other folks going into the ASC with appointment notices in hand. The first day of closure is obviously the first day they could be rescheduled from... and yet according to USCIS we have still not been rescheduled, so tack on another week or two from when that happens...

Yes this is the whole idea of those guidelines I posted - if your situation is dramatically different from the guidelines, try the Tier 2 call

Yep done. I think your guidelines make sense in a rational world, but with April/May and even June filers getting biometrics notices, even for ASC opening 27th, It appears there are more exceptions to the guidelines than anything.

I'm still not giving up hope on finding something rational in this process... But I'm close to giving up

What I understand is that tier 2 officers may be able to reschedule my biometric appointment, but they can only do that once they make a new appointment date/time.

I guess tier 2 officers they can't make a new appointment or adjust passed appointments.

I hope she just confused between the scheduled date and the notice date.

I agree with your guideline, but the problem is I don't have any.

So, I calculated back to the difference between the original notice date and the scheduled date and applied this gap to the ASC reopen date, and this is the result.
