Hi All,

Do we have any cases so far of folks having case processed by NBC that have had 765 approved that

1) have had an EAD card sent or

2) biometrics rescheduled

From what i can tell, it's folks who haven't had approval yet that are getting rescheduled, but maybe I'm wrong.

I am the case. EAD approved May 19, biometrics re-scheduled on July 17 for August 5. Case is with NBC, no card issued yet. Biometrics notice is referencing AOS and EAD ticket numbers specifically

Yes, same thing here for me, i got a letter 5 days after i done my biometrics in March.  They will reuse previously captured fingerprints and other biometrics and in BOLD, “it is not necessary for you to appear at a USCIS Application Center for a biometrics appointment”

i hope this helps or clear out the confusion?🤷‍♂️

Biometrics is for the I-485 and I-765 none needed for the I-131.

Interesting... The case of two rounds of biometric invites that my friend received (mentioned in previous posts) has a twist to it. He has 2 children - an older daughter, she's like 15 or 16 - I don't remember, but still qualifies as a dependent for GC. He also has a 5-year old son. For the first round of biometrics he received 3 invites, for everyone except for his son. Second round was for all 4 of them... Our idea was that the second one is for AP. I will check with him again

I had the same problem back in March. I did my biometrics then when I got home I got a new letter in the mail from USCIS scheduling me for another biometrics appointment which is for I-131. I never had the chance to go to that appointment because the offices were already closed. The next day, they updated my I-485 that my fingerprints were taken but not for I-131. After a week (or a few days maybe) they updated my I-131 to fingerprints were taken as well. I say just wait because they’ll realize it as they go thru your application.

Humm strange our biometrics appointment letter mentioned only for the I-485 and the I-765. I think perhaps sometimes they use one for all so to speak.

You don't need to feel strange.

USCIS needs fingerprints information to process the Form I-131, and that's the reason why they ask for the biometrics fee as well. I don't know why we don't have to submit fingerprints information for Form I-131, but my best guess is they may not need two identical fingerprints information to process a single document since our EAD works as a travel document.

I guess USCIS may ask separate fingerprint information to process a stand-alone travel document.

USCIS does not need any finger prints to process I-131/I-765. they are just making up rules as they go. if they do, how are some people getting EAD/PA without biometrics done ?

duh

I can't find some code/policy that fingerprints information is required to process the EAD/AP, but they need fingerprints information and that's the reason why they can charge the biometrics service fee.

And fingerprint is even imprinted in the EAD card as well.

(Not for OPT. I believe there may be some formal exception of that category.)

I know some categories don't need fingerprints information and some of us (who need to submit fingerprints information) get some sort of waiver.

I'm one of the residents in the biometric limbo, but for now, I believe we have to do biometrics otherwise the boss of the people high up there in USCIS changes his mind.

Hi All,

I contacted my congressperson on Thursday and rep said he has not heard back from USCIS as of this morning.

I contacted the ombudsman on Friday afternoon and haven't heard anything yet.

I'll let you guys know if I hear anything.

Fingerprint is typically applied to the card, but there are cases where instead it says 'Fingerprint not available'. However, i've yet to hear someone approved by NBC lately where this is the case.
