The fact will remain: no evidence and no witnesses were presented. Not one witness was called that will rebut what Bolton and Parnas claimed.

But what they "claimed" weren't in the house trial because the house didn't want to go through the proper motions to get Bolton's testimony

Let's talk straight, the Democrats in the house were never going to hear John Bolton testify.

They could have they went through a court of law but they didn't want to take the time to do that

Exactly, delayed Justice is denied Justice, there is no way the Barr DOJ was NOT going to fight tooth and nail, dragging out the appeals past the election.

Even today, the Barr DOJ is arguing that Congessional  subpoenas aren't worth the paper they are written on.

DOJ tells court that Congress can't sue to enforce subpoenas

The Trump administration told a federal judge on Thursday that Congress cannot sue the executive branch, attempting to fight off a House committee's subpoena for documents related to aborted efforts to add a citizenship question to the 2020 census.

James Burnham, an attorney with the Justice Department, argued that Congress cannot use the courts to enforce its subpoenas. It can only use the legislative tools it has at its disposal, he said.

"If they are enforceable in the courts that would be a revolution in the history of the relationship between the branches," Burnham said. "These cases would multiply like rabbits."

So the Democrats didn't like how the Republicans are doing to them just like the Obama administration did when he was in office

The DOJ  what power does congress have? The budget and the impeachment, both of which the Administration argued against in this impeachment proceedings.

America is clearly heading toward the imperial presidency backed by dark money, and you have Citizens United to blame for it.

Maybe the Dems should not have nominated the most crooked candidate in US History?

I have to say, even if we don't agree, it is great to discuss topics with a genuine conservative who is earnest and brings real structured arguments to the fore.

I wasn't around for the Obama debates so I am not current on the topics.

I will have more energy tommorow and should have a decent rebutal, tonight I am tapped.

This is why we have three branches of the government.  No one wants an imperial presidency, just as no one wants Congress to have imperial power.  The fact that this partisan impeachment was essentially the product of one person in the House who was able to convince Nancy Pelosi he had a slam dunk case is very troubling.  To watch how Nancy bent her own ideals over the course of this ordeal was eye opening.

Oh please......Bolton has not claimed anything under oath.......The Dems had 17 or 18 witnesses in the House impeachment process...no one had direct knowledge of ANY wrongdoing by our President...they should have taken the proper route to get Bolton before bringing this to the Senate........the fact is that the Democrats staged a coup attempt...and it has failed....end of story.  This go down in history as a failure of monumental proportions by Nacy Pelosi, Schiff, and Nadler.

This is a quote that will haunt American for years to come:

": "If a president does something which he believes will help him get elected — in the public interest — that cannot be the kind of quid pro quo that results in impeachment."

Remember this quote also from Pelosi.."Impeachment is so divisive to the country that unless there's something so compelling and overwhelming and bipartisan, I don't think we should go down that path, because it divides the country. And he's just not worth it."

She gave in to the Trump haters...and lost.
