Wrong Zip / Postal Code on Marriage Certificate

Hi Guys,

 

Looking for a bit of advice - we just received our Marriage Certificate back from the County Clerks office and it is the last piece of documentation we needed before sending off our I-130.

 

Upon checking over the certificate I noticed that I have used my previous addresses zip / postal code rather than my new one as I had not long moved houses when we applied for our marriage license, so now it shows as my new address with the old postal / zip code.

 

We were wondering if a cover note explaining the oversight would suffice for USCIS or would we be best applying to get it corrected prior to submitting our petition as all other information is correct.

Your address on the marriage certificate is not important.  I wouldn't worry about it.....

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

I agree with @missileman, people move all the time after getting married, to my knowledge there is no requirement to update the new address on the marriage certificate.

Thanks @missileman & @Bill & Katya, I am just worried USCIS will see the typo and make an issue of it. Both my new and old addresses are correct on our I-130 / I-130A so hoping that would clear things up without the need to try and amend the Marriage Certificate.
