With the USCIS?

Yes with your application. Evidence of time spent together (FaceTime) is the best evidence. That would be boarding passes, hotel and other  receipts showing both your names, etc. Photos, chats and the likes are considered secondary. Wire transfers just shows you sent someone some $$. Jamaica isn’t a hard embassy but that’s not to say you won’t have any issues. Don’t use the excuse that you can’t visit due to work, money or whatever. Not saying you did but I see so many posts where people state that. But if they request a Stokes interview, you will be forced to go. Also read the consulate reviews to see other experiences.

Yes, I sent several notarized letters from individuals that know me to prove "bona fide" marriage, copy of flights, photos from the wedding, when we went out on dates, photos with both of family members and friends, and name changes on official documents. I think things will go well and I will keep everyone posted. Thanks so much.

Age gap is only questioned in any country when it is the woman who is older than the man.  Then they cry fraud.  Sexism at its finest.

Isn't it rare for a woman to be much older than a man? On the other hand, since the beginning of time, there have been lots of men who are much older than their wives.

Many people want to start a family and it does look suspicious since an older woman is not likely able to bear children.

I'm 14 years older than my hubby and we had no problems whatsoever.  They never mentioned anything about our ages at the interview.  You should be just fine as long as you have submitted good evidence of a bona fide marriage.  Best wishes at the interview!

Hey guys...

So, I was just reading a post from a fellow VJ member and I was thinking about the age gap situation. I am a US citizen and my last husband who is a US citizen was much older then me and we had a significant age gap. No one even questioned it, and of course, I am totally aware that this would be an issue for some individuals in other countries because of marriage fraud.

My thoughts are... how can the interviewer really determine if the marriage is a fraud because of the age difference? I, of course, do not have a concern with age because love is all that really matters, but I am worried (I overthink at times) that this issue (age gap) prevents other people from being together. Seems so unfair, but what are your thoughts?

I agree completely! If a man is significantly older that a woman, no one questions it, but the reverse is so scrutinized. LOVE IS LOVE! BOTTOM LINE. I worry about that too as I know both our husbands are from the same country. How are things coming along for you theses days! My husband and I pray daily. It is sad to think that an interviewer holds our future in their hands without knowing us as a person. How do they know that our marriage is based on love ?  Our presidents wife is much younger than him but does anyone question their love? No! All we can do is pray that the interviewer will see something in our story or photos that give them an idea of the tremendous love and respect we have for our spouse. Best of luck  and by the grace of God everything will be okay.

There are many ways to start a family. Just because a woman may be older does not mean there aren't ways to have a family. My husband and I have talked about this extensively there is adoption, surrogacy.  Any decision on these matters is between husband and wife and for no one else to scrutinize.

There are young women even that cannot have children through no fault of their own but should that stop them from being together when they love someone?

If you're worried, I would suggest more evidence of financial co-mingling for the interview.  Is your husband a beneficiary on your US health insurance, retirement plans, bank accounts?  Do you have a will, living will, power of attorney?  Joint credit card account?  You can do all of those things while he is in Jamaica.  For peace of mind, I would send him some of those documents to complement the evidence of the three visits that you have already sent.  Good luck!

Hey everyone...

Been super busy completing this process and working. I wanted to give an update....

My husband said that he answered all the basic answers during the interview i.e Where does your wife work? Does she has any kids? How long have you known each other and yada, yada, yada. I just wanted everyone to know that he man who interviewed him also said... "Is it ok if I ask you more questions because of the age gap?" Of course my husband said it was ok to ask.

So with that being said, my husband did pass the interview, the medical and they took his passport. :dancing:

We are in the Administrative Process pool and I wanted to let people know that the interviewer may make a point of reference during the interview about an age gap. I hope this helps 😊
