I am happy to report that we were approved! We were at the consulate for less than an hour; the formal consular interview was no more than five minutes. Our visa journey is soon ending, good luck to everyone still on the long and arduous path!

Which consulate did you indicate for your interview on the original petition? There's no negative effect, but if you would like to change your consulate of interview to the other consulate you'll have to contact NVC and request the case be sent to the other consulate instead once you get your case number. Right now Montreal is taking 5-6 months for an interview after NVC and New Delhi I believe is taking 3-4 months for an interview after NVC
