On 23th of January,  the  immigration office came to our home, they met my husband and my baby while at work. They ask my husband about me, he told them I went to work and where do I work , my husband told a different place bcos I didn't have a permanent job now since my Work authorization card is expired. I help people when they call me to come and work for them. My husband said they asked for my passport, they took pictures  and they took picture of everything in the living room and asked for the baby's room and took and to our bedroom and bathroom and asked my husband where I sleep on the bed. They also question our tenant when she's going to work before knock on the door, about baby her having a baby, and told them that is me and my husband that have baby in the house. Three later our old tenant told us they came to his new apartment to ask about us. Maybe they know about our relationship and the baby. He said his wife show they one of the pictures she took @ my babyshower.  Yesterday jan 28th the uscis reply me that my case is still pending bcos I filled out of processing times, my case will be 2years in April . Do anyone know how long is will take, Please any advice.

I am no expert, but it looks they initially had concerns about the marriage............but it also seems to me that everything was fine during the visit......

You are working without work authorization?

Does it really matter? It’s not particularly relevant. Unauthorized work is forgiven when married to a US citizen.

Just another random guy from the internet with an opinion, although usually backed by data!

Different place as in...mistaken about where you work? Lying about where you work? I'm not sure what you meant.

Your husband lied about where you work? Seriously?

One should NEVER lie to immigration, under ANY circumstance.

There was probably something in your background check or a delay in your background check, that they wanted to eliminate with a home visit.  If it has been two years, you should be asked to complete another biometrics.  Most home visits are to verify if you are doing what you say on paper.  If you are living in a true bonafide marriage, then there should not be any problems.
