Think positive! For sure you will be approved :) uscis is just working very slow and carefully. For sure we will all hear good news soon

I think since they don't have many petitions coming in, they are just moving slowly so they have work to do without running out. If you think about it, they must be getting a tiny percentage of the K1 applications they would normally get starting from when international travel was shut down. I'm sure they know the NVC stage is really backed up so they are moving way slower than normal.

The processing timelines through the pandemic have held their own. We are seeing most approvals during the 4-7 months where years before it was sometimes running as high as 9 or more months. I have never heard of an organizations employee collectively deciding to slow thier work, so I am assuming that is an assumption on your part not backed up with any statistical information.

The only backup at NVC is the shipping of the records to the embassies and that was due to the request of the embassies not to send the records till they reopen. You are still able to get a Case Number within two weeks of receipt of your case record at NVC.

I see nothing has changed apart from December filers who for whatever reason have been utterly slow in getting approved. Marches are starting to get approved and there are still December filers who have not gotten approved. Go figure!

Adding facts to the conversation, in the first 11 months of FY2019, USCIS adjudicated nearly 7.5 million requests for immigration benefits, naturalized 833,000 new citizens, granted lawful permanent residence to 582,000 individuals, processed more than 2.1 million employment authorization applications, verified more than 40 million new hires through E-Verify, the Asylum Division received more than 105,000 credible fear cases, and USCIS met the 30,000 refugee admissions ceiling for FY 2019.

USCIS, like other Federal Agencies, does a tremendous amount of work, is seldom appreciated or praised, and the scale of work they do is several orders of magnitude larger than private companies but you as the world outside, and the consultants who more often than not have worked on small to middling projects seem to be obsessed with private enterprise as a model to emulate!

Sometimes the tallest building seems rather small when shrouded in clouds.  I just had to get this out there!

Yes I am an expert in this field, I should have a doctorate. Have you ever heard the term "don't work yourself out of a job?" My job is very similar to theirs except I fix customer generated trouble tickets for a communications company. When the work slows down and you start doing future repair work early, the work will run out and the layoffs start. You learn to slow down on the repairs you do and trust me USCIS knows exactly how to do that just like I do. There is no time limit to how long I can take on a repair, same as there is no time limit it takes an agent to complete and 129F for example. Just like my company, they have bean counters monitoring future workload and staff to handle that workload. K1 visas and CR1 visas are at a record low since international travel has stopped. Our workload eventually always comes back and so will the USCIS workload when everything opens back up, but for now it's self preservation for them.

That makes sense since I see only a little approvals. Thank you! I opened up an inquiry today and received an automated email saying that uscis will review and process the request by September 30. I might not get a decision anytime soon but at least it's something though right

I keep hoping everyday to see your approval as I know how bad you want it.  🙂 Is there anything unusual about your petition that would cause a delay?

Thank you thats very nice of you :) . As long as I get the NOA2 I'll be fine. But it's been awhile now and have been losing hope. I've checked everything and there shouldn't be a delay really since neither of us have a record of anything and we sent a bunch of proof also since day 1 so I'm really not sure tbh. My lawyer isn't really a help either so I'm just clueless

If you were the only repair shop, then as a customer, I have no choice but to wait on your service much like USCIS. BUT if there is alternative company that could make my repair sooner my feet would be moving away from your doorstep to theirs. Just saying.

We're in the exact same position. There's nothing obvious that could be causing a delay in our application. It's so hard not to give up hope. Fingers crossed we hear something this month!!

Hopefully soon for all of us! I was afraid of the furlough that was going to happen to slow down the process but yet here we are again 😂 everything is very slow even without the furlough. I have no hope

Look at 6:20 and I think its a great idea and im willing to try anything at this point and I see that he's right especially when the embassies should be processing the k1s instead of making excuses that they can't because of a "proclamation". If those  expedited cases got approved with the reason of separation from our loved ones then our would work also

I'm so glad you finally heard back! It might be related to the letter of intent, but I don't think that's what "Notice of Intent" means here. You'll have to wait to receive the RFE to know what they're looking for.

Please let us know once you get it! I also only sent one letter of intent to marry that we both signed, so I'm really hoping that's not the issue. It's been 195 days for us, so fingers crossed for news soon!

Thank you @MarieJamesand @smile101 I hope you guys hear soon too. It’s a mixed feeling getting RFE bc I’m relieved they’re looking at cases but also nervous what additional info they want. You’re right I think the notice of intent doesn’t mean anything here. I will post an update once I get the letter in the mail 🤞🏾

At 220 days and I've been reading through the forms on here and saw that I would have to contact the Tier 2 supervisor about my case and ask. Im going to try that as well tomorrow
