Still no updates. I don't understand while cases sent after got accepted, why it is so long for France... plus they don't respect the EU rules for allowing fiancé(e) visitors to come...

The reason some cases get accepted at various times is because the application that is submitted is from people who have diverse backgrounds. Some adjudicated in a smoother fashion while others take more time. Under the pandemic we have seen cases get approved much faster than in times before. Times before it would take 9, 12 and sometimes 14 months to get a NOA2. We have seen cases that have gone on to 2 and 3 years.

Can I share somethings with you that I learned long ago about this process?

    • "the man with the gold makes the rules"
    • it will take as long as it will take
    • no one with any certainty can tell you when some process will be completed
    • Your sense of urgency will never be equaled to what USCIS, NVC or your embassy demonstrates
    • Your journey is not going to mirror someone else's experience - yours and theirs are not the same
    • They only promised you a YES or NO answer. Never an exact time that their decision would be completed
    • Lowering your expectations will make you a much more relaxed individual

Good luck on your journey

i'm 28th February filer.,,, Just wanna know how far have i come??  😇 been praying every single day for the approval

There are many answers to your question but what think you want to know is when you will receive your NOA2. They are just beginning on February filers so it maybe tomorrow, next week, next month or next year before you hear something. No one can tell you with any certainty when it will happen. More patience is the best answer.

What contry are you going to interview in. That will give us a better idea how to answer future questions. Complete your profile.

We need a little housekeeping on your end. Many of our answers are predicated on the information you supply in your profile. When we look at the left column and can't determine your timeline OR your Embassy it's hard for us to give you a factual answer. Our answers will sometimes be tailored to a specific Embassy hence the reason for you to complete your profile. If you look at the profile of others here, they have a flag for their country, so it makes it easy for us to reply as we can quickly determine their Embassy. The country that should be used is the country where the interview will take place.

So, if you could help yourself out and complete your profile that sure would help us out when we want to reply to your question with factual information.

Once you finish that then return and you will see a flag in your profile. Select it and see what wonderful information will open up for you.

Thanks

Hello,

I am Feb 12 filler and still waiting for our NOA2. I see more and more February cases getting approved both cases actually before and after I got approved this week. I know it is different from one case to another. But I want to set my expectation.

My USC fiancee has been living around the globe for the last 10 years (she is a former department of state foreign service officer), and now works for a different federal agency. Does that mean her background check will take longer? Should we lower our expectations for when we will get our approval?

thanks

No one can say for sure, but I'd bet that there is enough information already in her personnel file that a concise review should provide the answers that USCIS is looking for. We don't know with any certainty how long it will take. Keep your expectations low and when the approval does arrive you will be filled with joy. Good luck and stay engaged.

Feeling so frustrated with this upcoming furlough! We have filed and our receipt date is the 13th of February. I see a ton of feb filers are being accepted right now. I'm hoping our paperwork is seen and accepted by the end of the month. This has been so emotional and tough.
