Just got an email from Seoul Embassy that they received our petition etc.  and said to go schedule an appointment.  We looked and now we have an interview scheduled for Nov 23!!  Now we have to book flights back to Korea and quarantine for 2 weeks, but we are excited!  Hope this means more of us will start getting interviews as well!

Do not sell your house, car or property, resign from your job or make non-refundable flight or other travel arrangements until you have received your immigrant visa. Most embassies have acknowledged this in thier P3 letter and/or their website. So, buyer beware.

When your visa is issued review it to be sure there isn't any spelling errors. If there is contact the Embassy for further instructions. Keep the "do not open" pouch in the plastic and stowed away in her carryon luggage. Luggage does get lost and without the "do not open" packet it will be a difficult problem for her at immigration once she arrives at her POE.

We are still ''in transit'' (but I did the ''hack'' on the pdf about the dhl and it says that it was delivered and signed for on the 5th). I'm really worried because we are approaching our expiration date next month. I sent an email and got this. I'm a worry wart. Automatic extension?

Don't worry about the expiration. The NOA2 is valid for 4 months at a time, for an entire year. So, even in a pre-COVID world, in case you weren't able to do your medical, interview, etc. Within the 4 months, for reasons beyond your control, the CO could extend the NOA2. With embassies not being able to process visas during the lockdown, there's plenty of us in the same boat and they're not penalizing applicants for that.

I emailed them a few months ago myself with the same question and asked if I needed to do anything or provide anything to make sure the document would remain valid and they basically acknowledged the delay in processing and said the interview can be conducted even after petition expiration.

By the way, I couldn't get the hack to work. Did you call the customer service number or...?

Embassies are extending the NOA2's. Just need a letter from each that you still remain committed to each other and will marry within the 90 days. Same letter you sent with your application but updated with new dates. Scanned and emailed and printed on the beneficiary's end is OK.

If you paid a fee (this is for others who are reading this) they have indicated that they have been extended till the end of the year. Medical, now is until the end of October but up for discussion as we draw nearer to that period.

If DHL has a signature from your embassy for the delivery of your package than don't worry. It's just sitting at the embassy waiting till someone can get to the check in process at which time you will see your status change to "ready".

Thank you so much! Should I send a letter soon to my fiancé via mail? Does it need to be a wet signature

I went off by the date that my status changed from “at nvc” to “in transit”. The same day they emailed me to let me know of the change! In the dates from and to I did the date before the notice in the “from” section and the date date after the notice in the “to” section

Question regarding I-134:

If we are to both live at his parents' house for after me entering the US, would that impact his income requirements due to household size?

Or does household size simply apply to how many dependents the sponsor has?

Any insight is very much appreciated. Thank you!

Thanks for the reminder!  Thankfully(Unfortunately?), I sold my house and put all my stuff in storage 18m ago and have been mostly living "on the road" for a while.  My fiancee calls me Storage Man!  haha. I'll be happy to finally get back to normal after all this!  *fingers crossed*

Use your tax filing status. If you claim only your "wife" and yourself then you a two-member household. If your parents are on your tax return, then they are counted in the household number.

I'm SO excited to share that we had our interview yesterday and we have been approved!!!

We do have one thing to complete - the police record wasn't ready yesterday, so we will collect that and send it by courier today and then we should get our travel packet next week!

It was a LONG journey to get here, and the last week has been crazy since they just opened up a few available appointment dates.  We had to do the Police check, the No-impediment certificate, found out we also needed his previous marriage certificate and to do his medical appointment - all usually take 10 days to 3 weeks to accomplish and we had less than 7 days - not just business days - to accomplish it!  We have experienced a waterfall of miracles to get everything done, so the fact that we couldn't get the Police certificate the day of the interview was very minor.

Since I just arrived in Kingston on Wednesday and our interview was Thursday, I am in quarantine, but I have still been able to run around on our errands and accompany him to his appointments - I just stayed in the car to remain in compliance with the quarantine rules.  I was assured that was fine by the nurse at the Kingston airport who checked me in.  Once we send the Police record off we will head home to Anchovy for the remainder of my quarantine and wait for the packet to arrive.

The BEST part of this process?  As he was leaving the Embassy, his interviewer asked him to sanitize his hands so she could shake his hand and told him "Congratulations and enjoy America!!"

Congrats!!!! So excited all went well for you two. Enjoy the rest of your vacation and best wishes on a blessed marriage.
