Hi everyone! I'm a bit new here, but I'm also dealing with the JA embassy. I'm doing a K-1 visa and I saw that some of you guys were able to book an appointment. Did you need to wait for instructions or you can just see availability through the site? Also did we need to bring that P3 packet to the interview? Please let me know. Thanks in advance!

No email I just checked on the site. First time seeing a date since March!

No p3 just contains the info you need to bring (police record, passport photos etc)

What is JA embassy? There is a better way to answer my question and here is how.

We need a little housekeeping on your end. Many of our answers are predicated on the information you supply in your profile. When we look at the left column and can't determine your timeline OR your Embassy it's hard for us to give you a factual answer. Our answers will sometimes be tailored to a specific Embassy hence the reason for you to complete your profile. If you look at the profile of others here, they have a flag for their country, so it makes it easy for us to reply as we can quickly determine their Embassy. The country that should be used is the country where the interview will take place.

So, if you could help yourself out and complete your profile that sure would help us out when we want to reply to your question with factual information.

Country and Visa Type: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1RyJiLo_7WTmqvkzXXqLuOlVHm9oyhAES/view?usp=sharing

Once you finish that then return and you will see a flag in your profile. Select it and see what wonderful information will open up for you.

Thanks

That's why it's hard to answer your questions. We don't know your embassy or where you are in the process. All this helps us to help you. BTW, P3 information contained in the document needs to be brought to the interview but the P3 email/mail does not.

Do you have the P3?

That's my bad. I thought I completed my profile, sorry about that. I did not receive a P3 from the embassy in Jamaica, although I have seen from others what the requirements are. Every time we emailed them about what the next step to take is, we just received generic responses, which of course doesn't help much.

I've been checking ALL DAY and finally saw an available appointment date so I started the payment process - Success!!  I paid, got confirmation, then went to schedule the ONE date that was available and - POOF - no available date anymore.....  Dammit Dammit Dammit!

Well, I am sure everyone who has been affected by the pandemic is somehow trying to reach out to the embassy for all types of questions. So, are they working on getting the embassy open or are they too busy answering all the emails and the phone calls? It's best to stop emailing them as you are on their list and they will get to you when your place in line comes up. In the meantime, it's best to prepare all your documents and be ready when "your name is called". Just my opinion and what I have seen over the seven plus years I have been here.

Here is some help.

Financial

For JA they accept as proof of income only the following items:

Tax transcript for the past three years

Copies of W-2's for the past three years

Letter from your employer

Six months of Payroll Check stubs

If beneficiary have been married before they will need a certificate of impediment from the government. It would be a good idea if you were to get a few of these as they will be needed for other steps after the interview.

That sucks but at least there putting available dates out. Just keep checking since now you don't have to process the fee again you can just grab an appointment.

We sent a message again to Seoul Embassy and got a reply asking if I was active military.  I'm not, but at least it's not the typical auto-reply.  Hoping they are trying to prioritize K1 now, starting with active military it seems.  🤞

Ugh....  So I've booked the "available date" - you'd think I'd be happier??

The first available date was November 9, 2021???

This is insane.  I have spent all weekend checking, rechecking, at least 10+ times a day and always get the same message "There are no available appointments at the selected location. Please try again later."

You would think a week past the date they said they were ready to schedule K1s they would have more than ONE appointment more than a year out??

Has anyone else been able to schedule a Jamaican K1 interview since the weekend??

That has to be an error!! I believe other dates will become available sooner and you can reschedule so keep checking the site.
