Hi @Greenbaum or anyone on here, is there a step by step guide/instructions on how the sponsor and joint sponsor has to fill out the I-134?

How do I and the joint sponsor answer the question showed in the attached screenshot? What additional information do we give?

Also, do I put my fiance information here or none? He is the only person I have ever filed a petition for.

In the new revised I-134 form dated 2/28/2021 - Question #38 now regards contributions.  You leave the yes/no boxes "unchecked" and your explanation is submitted in Part 7 on page 8 of the new form.

You will do this:

3.a. "Page 4"

3.b. "Part Number 3"

3.c. "Item Number 38"

3.d. "N/A (K1 Visa Process For Permanent Residence)"

Three areas to look for that answer. Google and the form instructions themselves. Also, there are many YouTube videos to help.

Go directly to your embassy's webpage to keep checking for information regarding operating status and any further updates. When new appointment dates are available for booking, they will display through your appointment calendar within your Visa Appointment Service account at https://www.ustraveldocs.com. Please ensure that you monitor the email address that you used to register with the Visa Appointment Service, including the junk or spam folder, as that is how you will be contacted if it is necessary for your future appointment to be postponed.

Also, DOS has issued a memorandum that K-1 Visas are now a high priority.

https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/News/visas-news/important-notice-for-k-visa-applicants-affected-by-covid-19.html?fbclid=IwAR1pAibqzHe2zPj0CgkxSbr0Uqog-Qfcyfei5STueVj-07gyW1nCRl5_qs4

Check to see if your embassy is processing visas and which ones. If your results return 999 that indicates that they are still not processing that visa type. Your mileage may vary.

https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas.html

from that site... "‡ The All Other Nonimmigrant Visa wait time DOES NOT include K or V visa applications, which are processed similar to immigrant visas.  A, G, and NATO applications are excluded from these wait times, as they are processed separately."

So the 999 doesn't relate to Immigrant visas or K visas processed as such.   K visa really is the illegitimate child of Visas.  :(    It does show Student visa wait time is now 3 days and it was 9 days last week.  Maybe they finally are catching up with those and will start K visa processing soon.

A K1 travels through the process as a non-immigrant and just before the visa is issued it reverts to immigrant. Its truly a non-immigrant visa with immigration intent.

To better understand what is transpiring in your country become a part of the conversation. Go to the blue ribbon above, select "forums" then scroll about 3/4 of the page down and select the region that most represents where your country is located. There you will get the "boots on the ground" information for what is occurring at the Mumbai consulate.

We need a little housekeeping on your end. Many of our answers are predicated on the information you supply in your profile. When we look at the left column and can't determine your timeline OR your Embassy it's hard for us to give you a factual answer. Our answers will sometimes be tailored to a specific Embassy hence the reason for you to complete your profile. If you look at the profile of others here, they have a flag for their country, so it makes it easy for us to reply as we can quickly determine their Embassy. The country that should be used is the country where the interview will take place.

So, if you could help yourself out and complete your profile that sure would help us out when we want to reply to your question with factual information.

Once you finish that then return and you will see a flag in your profile. Select it and see what wonderful information will open up for you.

Thanks

Who determines when a US Embassy (for instance in the Philippines) will open for K1 visa processing? Is it officials in the Philippine government or officials in the US government? If it is the US government, who in particular decides? Can a US Senator be contacted for help putting pressure on "whoever decides" to get the K1 process moving in the Manila Embassy? Just who is in charge of getting the US Manila Embassy opening and processing K1 visa's is unclear to me.

Thank you,

Thank you,

The Philippines hasn't stopped processing K1 visas!  They have the MOST K1 approvals in all the world - 119 in July alone!

Thank you for the response. Where did you find that information? Are they all of the "expedited" type of approval or are any of the regular typical non assisted K1 type? I have read the USEM is closed for ordinary K1 from many posters. I assume that if any K1 did get processed there, it was from people who had expedite ability.

It might be mostly expedited but from reading here couple people got expedited because their medicals were expiring.
